Great Win and we are 4-0--I love it, BUT Richt

Love the man, the team is well coached and tough, but coach called a bad game today. I know he's rusty with play-calling but we need him to improve. He was too conservative this game and I certainly didn't like rolling Kaaya out TWICE to the left.

But overall, I loved what I saw and a win is a win.

4-0!! And it's FSU week

Let's go Canes!
How did he call a bad game?

We only had the ball for 20 minutes you realize that right? We had 355 yards and scored at will when we needed to

It's hard to put up big numbers if your defense can't get off the field

This board is so crazy

Doesn't change the fact that we scored on 3 of 10 possessions.

We had a chance to go up 21 twice to start the third quarter and both times we go 3 and out of halftime. That's inexcusable and kills all momentum. Richt is struggling to find an effective balance of run and pass plays in drives and he needs to get that sorted out ASAP. If he has the same mindset as you and your excuses then we're ****ed next week.

Clemson scored on 4 of 13 possessions.
Take away our last run-out-the-clock possession at the end, we were 3 of 9.

That is comforting to a degree. Let's hope that's further validated next week against Pitt.

Still though, Richt's play calling was poor. Hated the first two drives of the second, especially the first one where we rushed to the LOS after an incomplete only to be stuffed on third and three.

Did you hate the play calling, or did you hate Coley's inability to hold on to a very catchable first down throw? Because things like that sure make a difference in the evaluation of the play calling.

Richt is a god. You're right. There was nothing today that was left to be desired. This game will be studied for generations to come.

I think the execution was more of the issue.

However, I disagree with running a draw on 2nd and 36... the screen on 3rd down netted 16 yards.

The only goal on 2nd and 36 was to eat clock. We were not trying to score there. We were trying to get out of Atlanta.

That's exactly what the thought process was after Njoku killed a good drive that was on the way to getting points and salting the game away.

Rick clearly reached the point halfway through the 4th where he was ready to play field position and challenge GT to beat us throwing the ball on long fields.

This. Everyone on the planet knew that Georgia Tech wasn't scoring on their own - twice - in six minutes.

Rick clearly wants to keep building momentum, and his goal is to win the division. He's a canny dude. It might get a little boring at times and seem predictable, but he made the calculated decision to run the clock out and get out of their with a division win.

The D started playing pretty well late, and he knew we stood a better chance to win making them go long fields with no timeouts than if we dropped back and threw a pick 6 or fumbled on a backside hit on the QB.

Last thing you want is to lose that 14 point cushion on 1 pick 6 and get in a one possession game where they have the momentum and the crowd gets back in it.

Our defense not getting off the field wasn't the sole reason for the time of possession disparity. We had 7 drives of 4 plays or less. 5 of those were 3 and out. That's not counting both of our end of half possessions. I didn't think the play calling was great. We leaned too heavily on the run when it wasn't working, often leaving us in third and long. Perfect example is the drive after our td in the second half. We had just scored by throwing it downfield 3 consecutive times. First play of the next drive we throw it again and it's a 22 yarder to berrios, moving us into gt territory. Then we run walton into the line for nothing two times in a row, leaving us with 3rd and 10 and an incompletion. It was 35-21 and still in the third quarter, so there was plenty of time left in the game. A td on that drive all but ends the game.

I thought we could do better with how some plays we would run and others throw. It was worrisome we didn't get more touchdowns every play. I like how sometimes we would score touchdowns. Thought we did great once we got into the touchdown. Good win team.

You loved what you saw? Man... pump the brakes. This team has a LOT of work to do.

Go back and look at the Clemson vs Georgia Tech game from a week before for reference. That game was a physical beatdown.

This game - if GT didn't make some mental errors and fumble the ball away twice, we might be looking at a loss. We couldn't control the line of scrimmage and run the ball right at them. We couldn't set the edge and stop the run. We couldn't get them off the field and we needed lucky breaks to pull this one out.

Look, I'll take the win... and I'll take 4-0.... but I'm highly concerned about the FSU game coming up

This season is reminding me a lot of 2013 when we started out 4-0 and went all the way up to #9 in the polls, then FSU came to Miami and smacked us down and our whole season collapsed, and that was the beginning of the end for Al Golden.

Because Clemson is trying to clean up 5 years of an incompetent fat slob's homoeurotic fantasies of how he wants his players to look and "perform"

I didn't understand going into I formation (when we hadn't the entire 1st half) in our first possession in the second half and going 3 and out. When you know you will get limited possessions you have to make the most of every opportunity you have. If it wasn't for the two defensive scores it is a totally different game. Wasn't one of Richt's best called games for sure but a win is a win.

There is only one story. We are 4-0 against teams we should beat but we looked like we should have beat them. This team is disciplined and well coached. If we lose games this ear it's going to be because the other team is better. There will be no Cincinatti's

Im still more concerned about Brad Kaaya's periodic disappearing act than I am the play calling.

As you should be.. I think he is average at best at running a pro style offense. We either need to learn how to run the ball out of the spread or just accept the fact that Kaaya is going to go MIA every single game.

I continue to believe that Brad Kaaya needs to learn to do more with his feet. Its kind of annoying to hear announcers totally dismiss his running ability. He aint Dan Marino, the kid can make a play with his feet... but quite frankly, I think he's scared ****less of contact.

During the 2014 FSU game (the last game I attended in person) it was clear that Kaaya could have picked up 3-4 first downs with his feet but simply will not run. I dismissed it because he was a true freshman. Now he's a true junior and he still refuses to cross the line of scrimmage....ever. What's worse it that he rarely ever rolls out when the pocket gives way. I saw that a couple times today.

Dude has taken plenty of hits, and keeps getting up, keeps fighting. Let's calm it down with the coward accusation. Kaaya isn't all that mobile, he just isn't, and a lot of quarterbacks aren't. What would help Kaaya would be an offensive line that didn't let three man rushes get to their quarterback. Where Brad could really get better is climbing the pocket, and using little moves to create extra time. He doesn't have to be Michael Vick back there, but a little shoulder fake, some pump fakes will buy that fraction of a second. That, and he has to be able to manipulate players with his mind. He has to be a lot like Peyton Manning back there, Peyton didn't get hit a lot, because he set himself up via audibles.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought we won the game by double digits and beat the spread and after tonight will be one of only two undefeated teams in ACC. Reading some of this makes me think am dreaming.

not sure which ***noles will show up next Saturday but based on what I have seen from them, the players have clearly quit on Jimbo. The half ash attempt to chase down the FB from NC is a clear example. And Cook is without question not playing as hard as he has in the past...to protect his NFL status. All of which I'm very happy with. Time to smack some ***noles ash!

When was the last time you got paid to call plays for a football team?

I'll hang up and listen

I mean, 7.7 yards a play on offense. 12.7 yards per pass attempt. On the road, against a conference team.

I would argue that our biggest issue was getting off the field, as they had 73 plays on offense. Having two defensive TD's contributed to that, for sure, but I'm not at all surprised to see their offense have success coming off that Clemson performance and making adjustments. Paul Johnson is incredible at coaching that scheme and we struggled at times.

We had 7 drives of 4 PLAYS OR LESS. Let's not make it seem like we set the world on fire. We scored 21 offensive points. It was a **** poor offensively executed game. Let's not sugar coat it.
