Great Win and we are 4-0--I love it, BUT Richt

Hating *** posts from poster who has a join date of Sept 2016, hmm maybe he's not really a Cane fan and instead a troll. The trolls are always active on here but they come out in droves on game day especially after a W. Fun times.

Beat FSU and all the doubt and skepticism anyone has about this team will disappear.

I just don't think we've seen everything from the passing game. Richt is a smart guy, very hard to read. Would make a good poker player!

I expect, next week we see the majority of the playbook, biggest game we've had for the program in years.

Had he been more aggressive and passed more on on early downs we win by 30 today.

This. I know he was trying to get the D some extra time to breathe but this Line has proven to not be as great as they've been told they are. The holes just aren't there and half the time Walton was hit before the line. Had we gone with more shorter passes on the early downs instead of runs we would have been far more effective.

We did win, I'll give him that, but man... Too conservative if you ask me.

Im still more concerned about Brad Kaaya's periodic disappearing act than I am the play calling.

As you should be.. I think he is average at best at running a pro style offense. We either need to learn how to run the ball out of the spread or just accept the fact that Kaaya is going to go MIA every single game.

Sounds like you think 2194 posts makes you somebody.

You loved what you saw? Man... pump the brakes. This team has a LOT of work to do.

Go back and look at the Clemson vs Georgia Tech game from a week before for reference. That game was a physical beatdown.

This game - if GT didn't make some mental errors and fumble the ball away twice, we might be looking at a loss. We couldn't control the line of scrimmage and run the ball right at them. We couldn't set the edge and stop the run. We couldn't get them off the field and we needed lucky breaks to pull this one out.

Look, I'll take the win... and I'll take 4-0.... but I'm highly concerned about the FSU game coming up

This season is reminding me a lot of 2013 when we started out 4-0 and went all the way up to #9 in the polls, then FSU came to Miami and smacked us down and our whole season collapsed, and that was the beginning of the end for Al Golden.

What mental error on the fumble are you talking about? We had guys on them both X's to cause the fumble, that **** wasn't no mental error. A mental error was Njoku causing a 30 YD penalty which was BS IMO and could have lead to a TD to go up by 3 scores. First x the FS LB core play against GT, and next year I expect em to be more ready.

That 'block' he got called on is the same thing GT does all the time. On TV, I couldn't see anything wrong with it. I get the push after the whistle was blown.

No, it probably won't... You'll still have fans on here b*tching & nitpicking every single negative play they can find to justify their deep seeded inadequacy, that they project on our team by always hoping for the worse result possible, just so they can say they were right.

I continue to believe that Brad Kaaya needs to learn to do more with his feet. Its kind of annoying to hear announcers totally dismiss his running ability. He aint Dan Marino, the kid can make a play with his feet... but quite frankly, I think he's scared ****less of contact.

During the 2014 FSU game (the last game I attended in person) it was clear that Kaaya could have picked up 3-4 first downs with his feet but simply will not run. I dismissed it because he was a true freshman. Now he's a true junior and he still refuses to cross the line of scrimmage....ever. What's worse it that he rarely ever rolls out when the pocket gives way. I saw that a couple times today.

CLUELESS!!!!!

This is true. Kaaya not being able to reliably throw the ball from under center limits this offense and makes us predictable. It's obvious that Richt wants to be running more power concepts but can't because our QB is clearly more comfortable out of the gun

I have you an upvote before I read your whole post... I agree the GT got physically dominated by Clemson. Something I was hoping for a bit more of. We cut it a bit too close to the vest for me to be supremely confident after this W.

HOWEVER this is GT. We are playing ALOT of young guys on D and had we still had players that had been excused from the team, I think it would look far better in our favor. The freshman got their feet wet with this Offense and they did what they needed to. I wasn't happy with some of the play calling on our Offense. But I think we will see more in the future.

Saying this team resembles ANY Al Golden team is downright offensive. Golden knew how to manage GT and that's it. Every other team he hurt our team by telling them to play soft and nobody really cared about winning because of it. This is NOWHERE NEAR that level of garbage.

If I'm FSU next week, I'm selling out against the run every time Kaaya lines up under center, and selling out against the pass every time he lines up in the shotgun.

We don't run well out of the pistol/shotgun formations and we don't throw the ball well when Kaaya has to drop back and think about his feet

We also have some serious weaknesses on our offensive line that they will exploit

I hesitate to say that's ALL on Kaaya. I have yet to see this Line prevent a big push from the DL so far. We dominated FAMU but that's it, everyone else has put pressure on him early. Agreed he needs to get comfortable FAST. But this Line leaves a lot to be desired in protection....

I think the execution was more of the issue.

However, I disagree with running a draw on 2nd and 36... the screen on 3rd down netted 16 yards.

Im not sure that I share that opinion, but I do think its worth noting that Kaaya is learning a new offensive system. Its the first time in his career that he's had to learn a real, D1 caliber offense. I expect him to look more comfortable week by week.

that's also why so many think our O looks vanilla. Perhaps they're implementing it slowly. Just a thought.

More concerned about the defensive playcalling today than the offensive playcalling.
