I get that, and you bring up a valid point, but it comes back to results and expectations. These kids know full well that they are under the microscope when they sign on to play college football at a high-profile program. This isn't little league. Ask Michael Irvin or Alonzo Highsmith or Melvin Bratton or any of the old time guys what they think about celebrating a 7-5 season. They would rip these guys a new one if they haven't already. At this point, however, apathy is setting in with the program. That is the beginning of the death. Not caring is worse than being mad.
Nobody who is affiliated with Canes football is happy with this season, starting with the coaches and players. Yet, to find the proverbial silver lining in what is inarguably a dark cloud is something that is warranted for the coaches and players. They didn't quit when the Herd was bellowing in unison they would. They ALL showed pride and a never-give-up attitude that is something Michael Irvin, Alonzo Highsmith, and Melvin Bratton would admire because no matter the situation Canes don't quit...and that is the very foundation to build on for the coming National Championship run.
