Graig Cooper Appreciation Thread

Real nice all purpose guy. He was a good return man, he could catch passes and he was pretty good in the open field. He didn't have the natural running back vision or patience though. He was the king of running up his lineman's back. As a RB2 he was super solid. It sucked seeing him get hurt like that.

Don't worry....I had a verbal confrontation with Steve Hogan (Chief Executive Officer of Fl Citrus Sports) less than a week after that bowl game. I F-ing layed into his Punk *** about how deplorable the field was. Typical F-ing Florida Gator Douchebag. Even my GF...who normally would be perturbed about a scene like this (and she's dealt with 4-5 since we've been together) was totally on my side. I can't stand him. Another Mike Bianchi-ish d*ckwad.

That entire place was a dump, almost got stuck in that muck of a parking lot they had. We were supposed to play in the Gator Bowl that year, but they gave the nod to FSU because it was Bowden's last game.

I really thought we had something with that 07 class. Graig Cooper, Doug Wiggins, Robert Marve, Damien Berry, Jermaine McKenzie, etc.

Allen Bailey, Leonard Hankerson and Orlando Franklin were really good players, though.

anybody got the clip of jermaine juking the same dude like 3x in a row on the same catch?

Memphis 10 baby!! We shot and edited G Coops junior and senior highlight reel from Melrose High school in Memphis. My mother, all my aunts, and uncles went to Melrose. Was my introduction to videography at like 13, transitioned to film & TV and still doing it.

G Coop still may be the best recruit to come out of the M since his class year. The starting RB on my high school squad who was a freak on the field. Enrolled at prep school with G Coop for a year Milford Academy, was his backup and later went to Auburn. Raved all the time about G Coop and how good he was.

I saw him play at the Liberty Bowl when Melrose played in the old Bridges Classic. Those were the last really good Melrose teams. Good times back then..

Doesn't get talked about because he played during the dark ages. He was so dynamic. In my opinion, he didn't have breakaway speed. What set him apart was his balance and great feet. He did have good vision in the open field.
