I was posting some nonsense on the TVD yardage thread and reading the "under utilized" thread and wanted to give props to a forgotten Cane in all the Hester talk and speed/special teams we've been missing. Yes I've been drinking. Yes, Graig Cooper needs an off-season thread.

3rd all time yardage from scrimmage and seldom discussed. Hoping we see speed like this again with portal additions and true frosh on campus.

He was ok. A little overrated if you ask me,

Bro was poorly & inconsistently used, champ.

He played in 46 games:
-In the games where he was given 15+ carries (which was only 13x or 28% of the games he played in), Graig avg. 86 yrds/g on 4.8 ypc.

He started cooking his sophomore yr against TAMU. His sophomore yr was also his best yr b/c he was thee featured back:
-His freshman yr, he was behind Javarris.
-Junior Year he was splitting carries w/ Javarris, then got injured in the bowl game (major injury).
-Senior yr, Damien was the lead back & Graig was relegated to like 3rd of 4th string his Sr yr coming back from the ACL injury.

He’s a forgotten player, & imo, his career & potential was wasted here like several others due to improper use.

The ground-crew of that bowl game should fund his retirement.
Don't worry....I had a verbal confrontation with Steve Hogan (Chief Executive Officer of Fl Citrus Sports) less than a week after that bowl game. I F-ing layed into his Punk *** about how deplorable the field was. Typical F-ing Florida Gator/UCF Douchebag. Even my GF...who normally would be perturbed about a scene like this (and she's dealt with 4-5 since we've been together) was totally on my side. I can't stand him. Another Mike Bianchi-ish d*ckwad.

I cried real tears when he went down.

Coop is one of my favorite players from his era. As Relly said he’s a forgotten footnote, mostly because the long and dark shadow of missed expectations is all we see when we look back at that time.

He was not a classic RB in the UM sense, and he was overshadowed by who he wasn’t (Shady), but the guy could’ve been a prototypical modern RB if he‘d just had a creative OC and stayed healthy. Coop should’ve been a bridge between both eras, instead of an unfinished product. Off all the guys I wish couldve had a redo on his career, he’s near the top of the list.
