Hey guys first time poster here I am wondering what you guys think about richt going after some graduate transfers along the offensive line next season espically on the interior and perhaps right tackle. The only linemen who will be the caliber we need to run the ball with authority and pass protect to the extent we need to in order to be elite is Donaldson so in my opinion as much as we should look for grad transfers in secondary and WR we should be looking on the Oline as well.

I love the idea. Alabama thinks so highly of grad transfers that they hired a staff member solely to analyze potential grad transfers.

There are some quality guys out there who want a fresh start for whatever the reason. Many guys have their HC leave and don't feel like playing for the new guy.

Would love to see grad transfers at:
1. CB
2.OL
3. WR.

In that order of importance.

I expect that he will. We have extra ships and I expect him to fill a few roles going this route. It worked extremely well with and for Colbert.

If Courtel Jenkins leaves some team will be getting a very good DT,there are guys like him on other teams who want more playing time,we need to find 2 or 3 starters for next season.

This is a MUST for next year. Part of why our secondary was so successful this year was the experience they had. While most of them had played in a trash system they were prepared for the speed of the game. As excited as I am for guys like deejay and bandy, we need some experience back there in the secondary.

Goes without saying we need OL desperately. Brown and Donaldson are the only guys I would have locked in as starters

I feel like we're at an AA meeting when people introduce thier first post.

Hopefully Courtel doesn't transfer and realizes he is an integral part of the 4 man DT rotation.

It's probably too late in this recruiting cycle, but I would have liked to have seen us land 1-2 JUCO OLmen
of the Grown-****-Man variety.

To me, I will take that option over the 2 OLmen American Heritage being discussed.

Grad transfers work for me as well.

I mentioned Khaliel Rodgers from USC in another thread yesterday.

That would be just mutually (for school and him) dumb for him to bolt.
He is needed.

Problem is its a 5 dt rotation and jenkins was 5th for majority of the season.

5, no?

Mcintosh, Norton, Jenkins, Moten, Willis. As I've been repeating, only Norton and Jenkins are more natural 0 or 1-techs.

He is needed. All these guys get banged up over the course of the season. People forget how many injuries we had during the season. As for the transfers. That will be decided after signing day when we know what we do and don't have. Maybe even after the spring.

OP might be a grad transfer poster.

Yeah... Whenever I see a guy starting a thread with hardly any posts, let alone his 1st post, I usually expect it to go south but OP did fine.

Agree....OP does not seem like a long time lurker who did not post. Decent first post and good question.

IDC if the staff gets players from the midget or lingerae leagues....just win more games next year...and then the next etc

Sorry, we need more than just Donaldson coming in. OL was the biggest weakness on the team this year. We need at least THREE players of Donaldson's caliber or close to it, and I'm talking Freshman or Juco. So that means no whiffing on Slaton or Herbert. And then ON TOP OF THAT, we ALSO need one or two Colbert-level grad transfers on the offensive line to shore it up.

Moten has 21 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks in 3 years. I've seen nothing aside from Greentree reports to say that he will ever amount to anything but depth or that guy who gets a sack against FAMU. I'd really like Jenkins to stay.
