Grading Coach Golden

If Golden loses to Larry Fedora or Mike London this season, there should be questions about his game-day coaching. Plenty of talent on this team to beat UVa and UNC.

But this season won't make or break him, either way. He's still a "young" coach. Plenty of time to build a legit dynasty. He's not an elite coach, yet ... But that doesn't mean he won't ever be elite. Just might take a few more seasons ...

This. Getting outcoached by London three years in a row gets a D-

I don't think it is as easy as "It is what is". I grade Golden at a B. Every year he has improved the team. You cant call him mediocre if he fails to beat UF. Frankly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if we do beat Fla. Not because they are SEC, because they have been playing at a level we have not been close to be able to play at. (ND or KState last year).

So if you lose a game you are out coached?

When you consistantly lose to London (who NO ONE ELSE loses to, ever, he is like 2-10 every year with one win over Miami) or some default coach at UNC, you are getting home skooled.

But REALLY, come on, there is more t coaching then that... Landon has our # right now. His team mounted a fantastic comeback against against a suspect defense. It happens. That why we love football.

I think Golden has mostly done a fantastic job. He's done wonders with off the field stuff, recruited good talent at most positions, and instilled the attitude and work ethic that a winning program needs. As rok said, though, I believe he still has much to prove re: the defense.

This is embarrassing.

I was a supporter until the bowl game against Louisville, but the loss to Boston College in the last game of the season made me nervous.
