Inside info that job will open if golden loses the bowl game. No way you would campaign for one particular job if you didn't know was open or going to be open.

Butch is just adding to the public heat on UM which is fine by me. Doubt he has any info on if they are going to drop Golden, just probably looks at the situation incredulously like all of us and thinks common sense will prevail. Unfortunately, admin lacks common sense
 
He's got to have some friends on the BOT who advise him on good ways to give it the highest potential of happening.

I reluctantly agree with you. Something just smells funny. I can't see why Butch would be so open in his comments if he had knowledge that Golden was safe no matter the outcome of the bowl game. In any case, Butch is certainly maneuvering for a position at the front of the line. Let's hope he does know something.

And it was known Golden was trying to get the Penn State job, a year later he's now 6-6 going on 6-7 and Butch reemerges again. Added with sneaking off to PSU leaving recruits and admin oblivious and now 6-6 this year I hope the powers that be do the right thing.
 
I hope so. But why would it come down to a bowl game for the admin/bot/AD to make a decision? Can't they just look at the full body at work and figure it out that he just doesn't have it?

You would think after the Virginia and Pitt loss that they would have seen enough.
 
Kendall I think it comes down to the bowl because their pool of candidates isn't going anywhere. Everyone that we would want isn't on anyone else's list.
 
I don't know what to make of it, but the public lobbying by Butch is unique. Lobbying for a job that isn't open is usually considered to be a huge "no no" in the coaching fraternity protocols.

And that is why he is the man. He gives absolutely no FVCKS! The players in the U part 2 said it they were scared of him, they respected him. He has that edge, that knowing what he wants and taking it attitude. He is like Saba, Meyer, and the rest of them whatever it takes.

Butch is the guy who attended Sean Taylor's funeral and then used the same trip to south Florida to negatively recruit against us.

Didn't I say he gives no fvcks, and is whatever it takes. It is a crappy move and something most people wouldnt do, but he did.
