Gotta be honest

I’ll be honest as well, much like many here if Manny came back I was done. I’d probably watch but my interest just wasn’t there this season and was heading in a downward spiral.

My fanhood has been revived. Been following this team since I was 6 or 7 in the mid 80s, and I’m as pumped now as I was a little g time ago.

Been a Cane since the first football game I ever saw live was the UM in 19 hundred and 66. I was a youngster still in elementary but I remember it like it was yesterday. I feel like Rudy's dad when he walks into Notre Dame stadium for the first time in his life, and says "this is the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen." I felt these old eyes was never going to lay eyes on a U football team again that could line up week to week and actually be competitive. And the chance we may get a run at another ship or two is just cherry on the top.

I’m guessing I’m older than most here and have been a Miami fan since attending my first game in ‘79, so I’ve seen the best of times and over the last 20 years figured we’d never be able to make a serious run and become dominant again.
What’s happened in the last 48 hours is nothing short of stunning.
I really hope all you young folks get to experience 1/5th of what it was like.

//cool story bro!
Thanks for posting I too am an old timer who goes back to when the U was. Very irrelevant. I enjoy all the younger views of today. True a lot don’t remember or got to see those great teams. I’m sure we’re both grateful to witness what once was the most feared team in college football

With money, almost anything is possible. Folks must remember that the next time you think things are impossible
I think that is certainly true today.

Gotta say, though, that the first four NCs for UM football were accomplished with FAR less operating money for the Ath Dept than BJ and Manny had, no less what Radakovich and Mario have to spend. Also, we were dealing with a University President (Foote) who was blatantly hostile to our football program and its coaches.

As an old timer the greatest was 58 and zero in the Orange Bowl...greatest streak ever in college football, enjoyed every minute of that streak...before we went 58-0, Bama was 57-0 at home. The record was for HOME STADIUM and many of the Bama home losses were to Auburn on a neutral field so did not count.

I am with this. My **** is starting to get old at 48.

Now maybe, just maybe I will live to see #6 hoisted.
Here with you. My family moved to Miami in 1981 when I was 9. The next year, the Fins were in the Super Bowl. The year after that, our first ring, the year after that Marino to the Super Bowl. As far as I knew, "Miami" meant championship football. Been a long time coming waiting on #6. Will make it that much sweeter.
