Got a bad feeling about this

No I'm enjoying this. Continue as you were soldiers

One semi related question - @Brooklyndee said the Jurich deal was signed and sealed, but didn't say what happened that squashed it at the last second. I think you said Jurich was never a serious candidate (sorry if I'm mixing you up with someone else). Was UM really that close on Jurich? Any chance we could circle back around since we played nice with the pro Diaz contingent and tried to get the guy the search firm recommended, and it looks like he might be having second thoughts?

I simply can not imagine this happening. I joked about it, but for F's sake, I was joking. This can not happen.

IF it does....

I can't imagine the fallout.

I am going to ride with @Cribby and tune everything else out.

The vote was done and he was the AD. Then things went quiet and new names popped up. It was weird. That’s when I was staying away from this this whole thing. I knew there was bad leaks and bad info so I steered clear. The Nunez saga is when I started digging and got info from a few people I trust and they all matched up.

Then you retain Diaz after making it public you offered someone else his job?

YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!

There's no difference in someone publicly accepting/announcing saturday night at 10pm or monday morning at 10am. Conversations or feelers about potential staff can be had in private behind the scenes. Negotiations routinely take place through agents and privately. The delay might give the perception Mario wasn't already out the door and this is just people "coming for him". If that's what he wants, let him have that. If it's to ensure he's getting some of the things he was promised up front (AD, staff money, etc), then maybe it's a due diligence thing on his part. Can't blame him there with recent history at UM.

This process has shown one thing - UM has more leaks than a wicker canoe. Regardless of the end result, the administration still handled this in a way that reflects poorly on the school. This was their chance to change the narrative.

I'm sure Cribby is right and Mario is done, but the idea that if this fell through, they'd retain Manny, just shows how much the circus is still in town.
i wholeheartedly believe that that report is bull****.

even if mario fell through, there is zero chance they could keep manny on as coach. the relationship will be beyond repair.
