Good perspective from a guy that's sure not a fan...

Is there really a question we could have put up 70 had we wanted to?

No lie, these past four wins over Florida State—especially this one—a guy like Bud Elliott is one of the first people I think of.

His smugness when the Noles were rolling early in the Fisher era, as well as his egregious piling-on of Miami (dissecting older recruiting classes as evidence as to why the Canes would never bounce back....)—he talked a big game and is now on the other side of it.

Fun to see all Florida State fans in completely disarray right now. Grew up in an era where we had a "healthy" rivalry with them—nothing at all like the hate that exists towards "The Gator".

Somehow that all changed when they were back before Miami was; rolling to that 2013 title behind Jarapist. Their fan base became incorrigible during that seven-game win-streak—as bad as Florida fans.

Watching them writhe as their program bottoms out—best kind of revenge there is.

A few year ago they sincerely thought Miami wasn't going to beat them again anytime soon; the streak getting to double digits.

Now they're down four and just took the biggest *** kicking in the history of the program (regarding points scored; 47-0 in 1976 was still their worst loss to UM.)

Bobby Bowden used to say, "Lose big, lose small, win small, win big" when talking about the development stages of a team. It's true. Look back at the last 8 years against FSU. Starting in 2013, we went from losing by 27 to 4 to 5 to 1 to winning by 4, 1, 17 then 42. Anyone who thought FSU was going in the right direction, and us in the wrong direction, simply wasn't paying attention. That or they are just homers trying to get attention.

Take away Dalvin Cook, UM is on a 6 game winning streak IMO. It was gut wrenching being at the 2014 and 2015 games.

Which made Saturday night so much sweeter. That last TD to Redding I was acting like it was the game winning TD in the Super Bowl

Exactly why our performance against Clemson is so crucial. If we do lose, it shows us a lot about the direction of the program if we can at least keep it close. If we beat Clemson, I think we have our answer.
