This is great. As a trial lawyer there are few things more important than competent trial judges who will apply law to facts AND exercise personal discretion when appropriate. The best judges understand when to be tough and when to be lenient (in the criminal law context). I can only hope for the lawyers and litigants that Andrew Bain is that on the bench.

I hope UM football promotes this because it is important.

Fvck all that, I just want a judge who says "Case dismissed" because he sees my UM lapel pin...

He is an awful judge and would likely sentence you harshly if you lost at trial. When he was the IA judge at the jail, he was setting million dollar bonds. He is about as bad as you get on the bench.
