Good article on Manny understanding social Media

Part of being a head coach today—relatability and winning the social media game. If you're his age—mid-40s—you're expected to understand how the platforms work (whereas older guys like a Nick Saban or David Cutcliffe will rely on assistants to handle social media interaction.)

Goes without saying that if you're gonna open the social media can of worms, you better deliver on the field. All this chatter about The New Miami, the clever animates gifs, trending memes, etc.—you're gonna get straight clowned due to your visibility if you lose games.

Look no further than the Turnover Chain target Miami put on its back in 2017. The MINUTE those three losses ended the season—Pittsburgh, Clemson and Wisconsin ALL openly mocked the chain and ripped the Canes for it.

Manny is a smart guy. He knows what he's doing and he's going on offense with his comments about knowing he has to deliver and it can't all be hot air:

How the message is delivered is one thing, but Diaz warns it still has to have substance to back it up.

“You can’t build a program through social media,” Diaz said. “I’m much more concerned with what is happening inside the building but certainly if we can get what’s going on inside right and then reflect it positively on the outside, then that entertains everybody. We’re still in the entertainment business.”

I absolutely love this guy! He is going to get an extremely high level of "buy in" from the team! You can book that s'hit!
Exactly.

It's the reason why our Defense has been better than the Offense over these last 3 years, it's because those boys love El Jefe Diaz, they will run through a wall for him.

And a lot of our fans absolutely sleep on Coach Stroud & have some dream scenario of him being here only for a year & then hiring Kevin Patrick, but Stroud is going to surprise a lot of people with what he's able to get out of the DLine. He's not some sickly old man that everybody thinks, he's a smart high energy dude that will lite a fire under our young DL's.

Well said - It's a combination of love AND respect. Kids can love a coach because he's "cool" and understands them. But if they don't respect the man they will attempt to walk all over him and take advantage of the relationship. The respect factor is what has these kids buying into his approach. If we can get that to apply to the offense then watch out this year...

Can’t wait to see our kids not sleeping through the first quarter cause our old head corch used to comotose the team. Guy was the worst.

Agreed.

With Diaz at the helm & Enos commanding the Offense we won't see too many lethargic starts plagued by 3 & outs.
If you really want to fully understand how bad Richt was. Look at the 1st quarter scoring his 3 years here against P5 schools. He was outscored. Talent eventually took over and in some cases, it didn’t. Complete and utter disaster he was. Never had any team prepared from an offensive standpoint where they came out and imposed there will. Glad he’s gone.
