The Good: if the team is still together and cares, wants to prove a point after competing to the very end, then focus the energy against team that has lots of hype...

The Bad: A day less to prepare against our opponent was off last week, and lack of disipline coming off a loss with many obvious problems.

We'll see what team shows up but let's play it and compete. I'm not fully sold on UVA, yes they are better, but they can be beat if we get it together.

UVA isn't going to beat themselves. We undoubtedly will. If you saw the Notre Dame game you saw a fantastic defense that was getting robbed blind by the Notre Dame refs and the Notre Dame D creating 2 critical turnovers that directly lead to 14 points. We don't create turnovers at The New Miami and we certainly don't get help from the refs.

UVA by at least two TDs.

I hope not. And WHY is Miami a home chalk? Because I don't know if this Cane fellow is 4 REAL, but he posted on Sunday that Miami is a... -2 point favorite. Wow.

Canes football on Friday nights was one of the highlights of my childhood.

We always had a scattering of great players but there was never any expectation of anything beyond an occasional minor bowl.

That's why I have no idea what anyone is complaining about. We overachieved to such absurd degree for so many years there basically isn't an equivalency.

gents, of course UVa is a better team, but I think our team is still together so hope they can focus how we finished but with more disipline and play like a team

I expect us to get thrashed in this game. The good news though is I have become numb to the losses at an all time early point in the season. I sat there nearly emotionless this weekend as the completely expected game winning drive to get VT a crucial touchdown executed itself like they were playing 8th graders on our defense.

Whatever, ill be a on a plane to Tokyo, won't even be burdened with watching it.

Canes are 1 point favorite. Part of that is the short week. The home team always receives the benefit of a doubt on a short week, especially in competitively priced games.

The power ratings generally make Virginia a 1 point favorite. But Miami is currently -1 due to that short week aspect.

We'll see is the major betting groups have a different idea. They typically don't get involved until midday on Thursday.

Virginia is hardly some juggernaut. Their power rating has been nothing special all year. The impressions around here have been very strange in that regard. Virginia all season has been in the 30th range in terms of power rating among all teams in the nation. That's basically where Miami was to start the season. Now the Canes have dropped to 52nd to 58th in the numbers I looked at today.

Minnie and the mousketeers don't have a clue what they're doing. Just hope it isn't another prime time national TV blow out and they somehow pull off a miracle.

Thanks my man. And if you're a betting man, which team are you putting your money on? Or is this a game to stay away from because of loyalties to Miami. For instance, I'm going to LAY LOW on Miami now. Because other than the Florida game, I've been absolutely WRONG about Miami covering in games against Carolina Blue, Central Mich., and now VA TECH. OUCH

We're wearing alternate uniforms for a 3rd straight home game #TNM

All this talk about the team "showing fight" and "sticking together" is great and all, but it is super troublesome and dangerous. The players can only fight so hard for so long until they realize that their coaches are clueless and aren't giving them a plan to execute that has a chance of succeeding.

That locker room is extremely close to a 9.5 level earthquake on the Richter (no pun) scale. It's great that they haven't lain down yet, but they know the game plan they are being handed is dog****, and they know that the coaches are still blaming the players and not taking any accountability on the staph. Unless **** puts his ego away and shows up with a set of balls, willing to call a game as though his primary goal is to score points and take advantage of what the defense is doing, it won't matter how hard the kids are trying. If he keeps showing up determined to run what he wants to run, even when the defense is anticipating it and selling out to stop it, there is no hope for success.

What we are doing on both offense and defense, is the equivalent of handing out machete's to 18 year old kids and sending them into the teeth of a German MG42. And then saying "it takes all 11 to execute".

"overachieved to an absurd degree" ? respectfully, are you on crack ? do you have any idea how many first team All-Americans and first round NFL draft picks Miami had from 1983-2005 ? the dog read your post and said to me "hey, take a look at this ****t !"

Why does this feel like the Pitt game last year where if we didn’t choke away games to awful teams we win the Coastal over them? Idk why but it feels like we smack UVA and then they roll on to win the coastal, while we go .500 the rest of the way bc that’s what we always do.

Just a feeling though. Realistically we’ll probably get boat raced lmao

Not saying we will win but I think Manny knows this is his "Come to Jesus" moment. You lose this game and you lose more then the game. You lose everything you built up over the last 6 months. I mean everything. He would literally have to start over from scratch with building back his credibility. No more TNM. No more yachts and bling. Nobody will believe you. He has to put it all on the line on Friday night. Lets see what kind of coach he really is.

..and another game on a prime network for all the crooks around the country to watch and see us get a beat down...
