I find the coaches being discussed underwhelming. A lot of money wasted on buyouts only to be replaced by the devil you don't know. Most of the teams looking are going to be very disappointed and flat out broke.

With that backdrop, I think Arkansas made the best hire possible. Golesh turned a disastrous team around at USF, he had an impressive offense at UTN. Not sure if he can repeat at Arkansas but the SEC is definitely down right now, and no one better was walking through that door.

UF is so trucked right now lol.

I read a great article about North Texas coach Eric Morris and his QB Mestemaker. I thought Morris’s might jump at Arkansas bc he has some farms there and is in the Cotton Biz. Also would maybe take his QB, WR, RB with him all really good players. Morris is a QB whisperer and a Leach Air Raid disciple. Has helped develop Mahomes,Mayfireld, Ward, Mayer. And now Mestemaker. Quite a resume.

Very impressed by him. I would take him as our OC in a moment if Dawson leaves. But as a high P4 HC? He seems one move away from that, IMO.

Agree 💯 on the OC, but was giving the perspective of the article I read. But yeah that also.

I was warned by @JustAFanHTX on wanting Morris as OC.

Tbqh, I want us running some form of the Veer and Shoot. Which we will never do.

It was fun looking for potential DCs last offseason, because you could just see it someone being outside of Marios circle. And, low and behold, he will likely be a HC next season because of what he did here. But offensively? Heavens no. He will get someone who follows his vision of a football team.

Honest to god, unless Dawson gets a HC offer that blows everything out of the water, he will stay here.

The SEC is definitely down right now?

They've had 9 teams ranked during the majority of the year and 7 right now.

speaking on sec and rankings is a waste of time and you clearly have been brainwashed.

they will have a million teams ranked because they have em all highly rank szn and shuffle the deck on the boards to keep em ranked as they beat each other....weve been aware of their scheme over 15 years on this website....you need to catch up lol

tell me who tenn or mizzoue have beaten to be ranked?. though i want tenn to beat vandy...smu atleast beat us...those teams are only ranked to be food for other sec teams

You, I, and everyone else on this board may think they are overrated (they are). However, that is the rankings they have. To say it is "definitely a down year" for the SEC is just ignoring reality. When the narrative that the SEC is the end-all, be-all conference in college football goes away is when they will be "having a down year". It hasn't happened yet.

like i stated they all get their teams ranked in the pre szn so they can shuffle the deck as they beat each other...i dont want to hear how much sec teams are ranked ..this n that.....or how much it is a gauntlet....when they added big 12 teams to strengthen their bs rigged system.

Let’s rephrase it
Smart and Saban had juggernauts that destroyed everyone…..SEC is not that anymore

Those teams are very beatable
They are good
They aren’t great at the top anymore

They are about to get 4 (possibly 5 teams) into the 12-team CFP. Again, no matter how much "we" may feel they are overrated, know they are overrated, or even if they actually lose in the first round quickly and by large amounts, they will be getting at least a third of the entrants in the playoff. That is not a down year.
