Here is a post I had from a few days ago:

List (A) [Coaches with HC Experience]

1. Chud
2. Mark Hudspeth
3. Josh McDaniels
4. Lovie Smith (was interested in the USC job)
5. Jim McElwain
6. Raheem Morris

List (B) [Coaches with no HC Experience]

1. Rhett Lashlee
2. Justin Wilcox
3. Tom Herman
4. Nathaniel Hackett
5. Dan Quinn
6. Kyle Shanahan
7. Jake Spavital
8. Josh Heupel
9. Pep Hamilton

List (C) [Coaches to watch if our Admin doesn’t make the necessary move this year]

1. Kevin Wilson
2. Bob Diasco
3. Rod Carey

I hope very few on that list will be considered. Where did you get that from?

I made it up. Which ones put a bad taste in your mouth?

Not one guy on this List that I would want

Greg Schiano
Jeremy Pruitt
Butch Davis
Ed Orgeron

That's it

Schiano would kill it here. Miami's Defense will be back in the top 10, recruiting will be improved and the program will have a major buzz. Schiano will also bring better coordinators than we have now. That being said, I'd be extatic with Butch or Stoops.

On what grounds sir? Based on what a decade of OKness at Rutgers beating up on basketball schools. Or his great tenure here in Tampa where he refused to change and constantly showed ineptitude?

Schiano at HC would be terrible.

We're recruiting fine right now. It's just that we can't develop or coach them up.

Even Schiano would be a major upgrade from Golden. At least we would have a proper defense and recruting will still be good.

Schiano couldn't even win the ******* Big East...seriously? ***** that guy.

Been saying from the beginning, expect Rod Carey to be someone that they seriously look at. That's the kind of HC we are going to end up with.

LOL @ Ed Orgeron. When the F*CK did Orgeron become a good HC? Guy was a DISASTER at Ole Miss. Orgeron would be a good DC, but no thank you as him at HC.

i hated butch's game day coaching, at least early on, as much as the next guy, but, he stockpiled talent. and imo, exceptional talent will overtake mediocre coaching in many cases. i'd rather have a roster full of talent and butch calling time out at the start of quarter or after a tv timeout.

It's hard to take you seriously when you want Schiano. What was wrong with some of the candidates?

It's hard to take you seriously when you lost Josh McDaniels...dude never has even been involved with college football an he drafted Tom Tebow in the first round

Not necessarily a bad taste but very few of those names excite me and many I don't think would come. I want either an innovator on offense or a guy who would make our D elite in 2 years.

The only offensive guys on the list that intrigue me are Lashlee and Spavital and both are extremely young.

If we end up with Rod Carey then just end Miami football.

If we can't identify a young innovator, I'd call David Cutcliffe. I know it hasn't really been talked about here, but I think this would be a choice that satisfies all parties involved.

For what it's worth, Cutcliffe says he wants to coach at Duke until he retires. He really likes it there and wants to make Duke a legitimate football school.

Of course, that could all change with the right offer, but that's what I've heard.

I know. I'd still give him a call. You never know what people want to prove and what they're after in terms of legacy. He's 59, but that doesn't mean anything these days. We wouldn't be looking for a guy who'd stay for 10 years. In my opinion, this job should always be a launching point. What you need is to start with a guy who'll leave a solid foundation behind and then continuously build from those roots - staying with the roots that have previously made Miami great.

Either way, these are the types of guys I would explore. Let's get a Coach, please.

It's W's and L's that will determine his fate along with every other coach in college football. It's that simple!

Cutcliffe won't leave. He loves it in that area and is very grateful they hired him when his career was in the toilet. He's a fantastic coach though, and we'd be lucky to have him.

I don't get the Chud stuff at all. If he didn't play here no one would be thinking about him at all. He didn't even recruit when he was here and couldn't wait to get out of here to the NFL. I don't see him as any sort of offensive guru either.
