There's a lot of things you can critique about Al, but more than anything else his team's have no toughness, no edge, no fight, no will to win.

At the end of the day that's the most important thing.

I say this as I'm watching The U, and that's the thing that stands out.

he is a boxer who can't pull the trigger. afraid to let his hands go so he tries to run and win on points. smh

mark my words, this current roster will have more productive players in the nfl than Alabama's. its a shame

Great point OP as their attitude resembles his which is soft. Would like to say that his refusal to adjust to the South Florida environment and adapt to his personnel is equally as bad.

I don't know if it's a refusal to adjust or if he's just not capable of dealing with a certain cut of athlete. It might be both.

valid angle with the level of athlete. we've seen the same alignment, scheme and trends for 4 years though.

He doesn't know how to game plan or make in-game adjustments. He coaches scared.

True point. I think the scheme and alignment flows from a philosophy that shifts the focus away from the player making plays.

It's almost like he's uncomfortable with a player consistently standing out, especially on D.

He's a big gaping flappy wind sock of a puzzy. You can try to be specific about his issues, but it's useless because he's a fcking loser. A finger pointing, excuse making check thief incapable of leading men and getting the most from men.

The only people he can inspire are the sycophantic slags in the fan base and the flaccid beneficiaries of large inheritance on the BOT. Real men see right through him and are repulsed by him.

"Real men see right through him and are repulsed by him. " Doesn't say much of the kids that have and will commit to him.

They will eventually see through him and quit on him just like the current roster that he hoodwinked.

His biggest problem (besides his weight) is that he just can not prepare a team to win. Coaching is about curriculum, ideas and philosophy. If you excel at more of those three, than your opposing coach does then you have a distinct advantage. Al is awful at all of the before mentioned. This is why he gets his *** whooped in the second half of games. (excluding grossly under talented teams and programs) He is way over his head at this level of football. Every power 5 conference coach he faces is just flat out better than him. Al is a MAC level coach at best. Look at Turner Gill and you have the white version of him with AL. Gill is having moderate success at Liberty. FCS.

I'd say his biggest problem is that he is a "style over substance" guy. The bulk of his shortcomings stem from that IMO.
