Golden's and Doritos careers on the line tomorrow night

"Golden's and Doritos careers on the line tomorrow night"

Just like with Coker and Shannon, there will be a "defining moment in Golden's career" once every other week. ****, he had about five last year. But you people keep posting the same thing. "THIS is the game..." Yeah, chief, heard it before.

The OP screams of a tabloid trying to sell magazines at the check-out line.

Honestly, I think it's fair to say this is the start of what is a pivotal year/season for the Golden administration. But yeah, no one game(at least this one) is getting anyone pink-slipped.

Donofrio's job might be on shaky ground but Goldens is not. Luckily the UMArchers of the world are not running the athletic dept. This is the year Golden starts to get judged. He has shown he knows how to build a program now we need to see results on the field.

You better believe it!

He'd have been gone halfway through his first season. He's not up to this job at this time in his life. We don't need another OJT project.

If the goal is to win a 6th in the next 3 years, this game is very important. Not a must win, but very important.

Is this a canes board or a vag festival?

man up, for 24 hours we have all the hope in the world. Plenty of time after that to commiserate about running people out of town or building statues.

Many of things stated here are true with the exception that Al will get fired if we lose tomorrow night. Hindsight considered, Al came into a program with minimal financial and facility support, had little talent, had to rid the program of bad character, and had to settle for guys that were not D-1 caliber (especially at DL) because of the NCAA mess. In retrospect I whole heartedly believe that without the NCAA making an illegal attempt to permanently eliminate the football program at Miami, then we'll be at least 2 years ahead of where we are now.

That said, I'll take back many of my negative comments about Al and D'Nofrio. In fact we all should reserve comment until after the first half at least.

....and if Golden and the staff blew town after the Yahoo story dropped BEFORE the start of his first year, we would of been 5 years behind where we are now....that's if the program would of survived in tact. Glad he stayed, if for nothing else, to get us to where we are now.....which is better than where we were.

You see that in your magic 8 ball? You guys that make these definitive statements with no basis in reality crack me up.

They will give AG a pass this year IMO, but Doritos gotta go if he gets trained on a regular basis.

Go through the scenario and add up the disaster that would of been Miami football if he left just before the first game and get back to us.

Want to bet your bank account that if we lose tomorrow night that they won't be fired? Just going off your thread title

Not his point at all and you know it. They are going up against a real coach mañana with BETTER personnel in my opinion. They have a lot to prove tomorrow besides how buddy buddy they can be with recruits.

Show me how great you worked these kids in camp..development post NCAA starts now. I'm pumped and want these guys to show out...but to act like they have nothing to prove is ridiculous...show me 4 quarters of leadership. Whether Shalala and the BOT are "willing" to see what we see is irrelevant.

Balls to da walls time....

I just think its bull**** that we have some "fans" openly rooting for us to lose tomorrow so their thinly veiled agenda can be proven right. ******* selfish if you ask me. We don't need that ****. Its the ******* night before the game either your all in or GTFO in my opinion.

Yeah.. Every cane fan should root for the team to win every game - regardless of their opinions of the coaches.

Starting a true freshman qb is bad enough. I won't pull my nut hairs out when the young man struggles that part I am expecting. But god as my witness if this defense craps the bed out of the gate it will be hard to stomach. Deep down that will cement the fact until either Dorito must go or coach golden is going to commit career suicide with him.

Who, exactly is rooting for us to lose tomorrow? I haven't seen anyone.

I was really rooting for us to win the Maryland game three years back, and couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Thinly veiled agenda? It's not an agenda.

It's time for Dorito and Golden to put up or GTFOH.

Agreed. And that will be settled on the field starting tomorrow. I for one hope that they succeed.
