Golden Wins Out and I will eat Crow

Why the **** are people comparing Butch and Golden?

Butch inherited a team that was 2 years removed from a NC and a year removed from being ranked #6 in the country. Butch still had a talented team his first 2 years at Miami, he then proceeded to go 5-6 after those players left.

Golden inherited junk from Shannon, a bunch of losers

Butch faced harser sanctions though

Junk?

Shannon left:

Sentrell Henderson, Luther Robinson, Allan Hurns, Sean Spence, Tommy Streeter, Olivier Vernon, Lamar Miller, Mike James, Brandon Linder, Brandon, Brandon McGee, Brandon Harris, Travis Benjamin, Chase Ford and others.

Do you know what they all have in common? They all work in the National Football League.

Plus, Jon Feliciano, Shane McDermott, Clive Walford.........who are STARTERS on this team.

Take "IT" out of your mouth before you type.

Fly The F*cking Banner.....

And his lord and savior Golden went a whopping 6-6 with that team. We lost all those games by 10 points or less, and five by 7 or less. After seeing Golden's overall track record, you gotta think Golden once again underachieved even in his first season.

A real coach would've AT LEAST beat Kansas State, Virginia, and BC that year. But according hurricanec0ck or one of the other 4 posters that sound just like him, talent means nothing if you're playing against a team with the same coach in place for the last 3 years.

LMAO. That logic really supports your argument against Louisville this year.

If Alice Folden could coach, she would have won 10 games with her eyes closed.

This is probably the biggest red flag that the goldenbots miss. With FSU and Nebraska being the only two games on the schedule, we could've easily been 11-1 or 10-2 heading into an ACCCG fully rested, Boise St style. Were in the ******* ACC coastal, weakest power 5 conference division and not even in the conversation.

He wentMiami because he had 50 scolarships players that year. That would kind of be the impact reg. arding sanctions. So that argument is pointless.

And Butch won the conference his first two years here, so while he underachieved with that talent, he hardly sucked. The 6 losses his first two years were to 4 teams that finished #9, #4, #12, and #3 in the country. The other two losses were to, granted, **** teams.

Watch your mouth about the former players. Shannon didn't leave Golden any all-Americans but to refer to them as, "losers," when they still cut their teeth here and put their blood, sweat, and tears into the program is disrespectful.

When comparing the two you have to consider that parity wasnt has prevalent during the 90's as it is now.
Also Butch had the benefit of playing the OB.
Bottom line both were dealing with clouds that inpatient fans have to deal with as they build the program back up

Golden's track record actually makes the two following scenarios most probable:

We beat FSU, but lose to UVA or Pitt.
We lose to FSU, but beat UVA and Pitt.

My guess is, we beat FSU, UVA, and Pitt's kicker finally figures out how to do his job and we lose in the final seconds of the game.

We can be sure of one thing: El Foldo will break more UM hearts before this season ends. If he beats fsu, he will have all the dopes back in his corner crowning him. Then, Duke will lose, and open the door for him to weasel into the ACCCG. At that point, you can be sure he'll lose to UVA, Pitt or both.

This.

Fat Al with Joe after losing to sorry *** UVA. "Joe, people don't understand how hard it is to get up and stay focused after winning a huge game against your rival. There are no excuses and leadership starts with me". Rinse. Repeat.

Fair enough.

There is a lot more parity in college football now then there was in the 90's and Butch did benefit from having the Orange Bowl and I'll even concede that fans have been somewhat impatient with Golden and I think that's for a variety of reasons. I think the big thing with Golden is a lot of people feel that almost all of his losses have been to less talented teams. At this point, Butch had only a few losses to lesser talented teams. Also, Butch's losses he seemed to go down fighting and aggressively while Golden has coached scared on a few occasions. To Miami people, that's unforgivable.

If he beats FSU, I think this is all a moot point now because he will be walking on water again so long as he builds on it.
