say it out loud gentlemen. they have urban meyer, we have al golden. we are DEAD. this playoff has ruined our chances even more. if you think the sabans and meyers of the world are gonna lose 2 football games in 1 regular season under this new system then you are delusional. those 2 teams will always be in this playoff leaving only 2 spots available each year. I would bet my life that we will NEVER make it into the 4 team playoff.

Our only chance is an expansion to 8-16 teams and even then it just won't happen. this program is dead. And I am sick and tired of feeling like garbage year after year as I watch ND, FSU and OSU play for titles. Last night made me realize that we will NEVER win again. bump this ******* thread in 20 years. Miami football died. I can't pinpoint the exact moment it died but we all know it's over.

Urban wins where ever he goes. Michigan knew that and made a big hire. Seeing Taint demolish oregon last night made me realize that even firing Al Golden won't change a **** thing for this program because whoever they hire won't compete against Urban and Saban.
Unless Bill Belichik is walking through that door then good ******* night.

RIP MIAMI FOOBALL.

Obviously you still care. I feel as much frustration as you do, but seeing as you're still posting, you still care.

My question is, what's your point with a post like this? Everyone gets it. But you're still driving it home. What would you like fans to do?

If you truly feel like your post says you do, then that's your last post on this site. Just sayin.

Saban was once an "up and comer" ...

Urban was once an "up and comer" ...

Miami has to find the next "up and comer" ... Then, once he proves himself, Miami has to do everything possible to keep him.

Fire Golden, then make the right hire ...

And sorry to disappoint ... But the "next up and comer" ain't Butch ...

Nonsense!! Miami cannot risk anymore "up and comers". We passed that bridge 10 years ago.

We need a proven coach just as Urban was when OSU hired him. And Butch is proven!

Golden was the so called up and comer when hired - we see how that turned out.

UM has never had the ability (or funding) to attract a big name (Saban had the most impressive crdentials when hired) coach. Hiring has for the most part een a roll of the dice. We have crapped out the past 3 times.

These monster state universities are killing college football. They are able to hire these professional grade coaches, pay recruits under the table without consequence from the NCAA, and demoralize opponents with their superior (and bought) talent and coaches. These schools don't give a rat's butt about educating any of the kids that play for them. In fact, I bet most of these kids never go to class, and the NCAA looks the other way, choosing to punish smaller private schools for minor offenses and perpetuating the dominance of these huge schools. The college game is becoming unwatchable and boring . Soon there will be only about ten teams with any chance of winning a NC. The rest of us will never have a chance. I'm losing interest more and more every season. it's really sad. They're ruining the game.

Your exactly right.

No money . . . no big time coach! It's simple.

The state schools, with state budgets to work with, will dominate. Time to shut this program down? NO!

The BOT's gotta see the MONEY in this tournament format. Otherwise, it's on to the Ivy League.

Oh ****, did I say that?

UM will always be one coach away from being a national power. Due to the number of big time athletes within 50 mikes of campus, UM will always be a threat to be a power.

people forget so fast what butch davis built, and put in reserves for the years following

meyer wouldn't know what hit him

Golden was not a good hire for an up and coming coach because his scheme never fit the florida recruiting base. It was a dumb hire from every standpoint and thats why i was never on board.

If you hire an up and coming coach make sure his scheme fits your recruiting base and if not then make sure that coach has a track record of developing his scheme in areas where it didn't seem possible. i.e. harbaugh/3-4 at stanford

There was a time when people said basically the stuff you're saying here about Oklahoma. Then Jimmy Johnson came along.

Nothing lasts forever.

What are you talking about?!?!?

Urban wasn't proven when Florida hired him. He'd won at Bowling Green and Utah. Winning at those schools is the definition of "up and comer". Lol

And did you really compare Butch and Urban?

One got sat out 1 season ... The other guy is "still waiting for the right fit" 4 years later. Lol

You "Butch fans" are delusional. If he was really that great of a coach TODAY, someone would have hired him by now ...

Stop looking backwards ... Be progressive. Find the next Chip Kelly or Gus Malzahn.

Bama did not hire an up and comer Saban, they hired one of the greatest of all time, seasoned coach Nick Saban. OSU did not hire up and comer Urban Meyers...they hired, two time national championship coach Urban Meyer. We don't need any more up and comers. We need proven stability that will turn this program around w/in a 2-3 yr window like Saban and like Meyers did for their respective programs.

I am talking about Urban at OSU who had to face sanctions worse than Golden.... and got to the NC in year 3!!

He proved himself at FL! So he is proven coach.

Buy a clue buddy, before your rant.
