Golden presser - 9/2 - Sports Buzz summary

i also think his hands are tied for position coaches because donna doesnt want to spend.

Well he better figure something out on offense, because Coley is drowning IMO. Dude is in WAY over his head, and he's the OC AND Qb coach, and there really is NO ONE else there with much experience to help. Kehoe sucks. Ice just came on board, and is in his first season as a position coach. There are no old timer/experienced X and O guys on the staff to help Coley.

### On the defense: "The defense got 3 and out on 6 of 12 series, 50 percent of their series. That's elite.... That's as productive at nose guard as we've been in a long time, with Calvin Hertelou and Courtel Jenkins. We were much more physical up front. Anthony Chickillo played some of his best football. We had minimal mental errors on defense. I thought we tackled really well. We held them under 4.7 yards a play. So if you play a little better on offense and take care of the football, that should be winning football."

Now we see Al's dark plan: Hire a OC who sucks do bad that he makes Al's defense look better.

Curious as to who he is trying to fool with the "open spots" lingo. The defense played fine and many of the offensive guys are known. There arent a ton of personnel moves to make if talking about real improvement. That line has kind of run its course.

I agree. Our problems aren't due to the failings of the players. We are losing because we get out coached in every single game.

Get this ******* out of my sight.

Circle the Ark State game...we lose that game at home and I have a hard time believing that even our ****** *** inept administration will be able to justify keeping him past this season.

Again....a big **** you to Penn State.

If I were to guess, it starts with the Offensive line. Expect KC and Darling to be getting reps against FAMU pushing Isidora and Gadbois big time. Those guys really played like @ss. Also would not be surprised if Stacy Coley got sat down for someone else to start the next game or two. He played softer than a shoe full of baby sh*t last night.

My thoughts are the shots were being taken at the offense. He clearly took a shot at the offensive coaching last night. I mean its all well and good that he also saw the same **** show the rest of us saw, but what the **** is he going to do about it? What CAN he do about it now? I think he's stuck riding with Coley all season, and he's going to sink or swim with him.

That makes no sense. A great OC would have made the defense look even better. Go compare the stats for FSU and Alabama on their first game. UM's defense was not a problem against Louisville is was the atrocious offensive OC and his play calling.

Kehoe needs to find other employment. Easily the most overrated position coach ever. Let Coley be position coach and recruiting coordinator and get a real offensive coordinator. I think I'm still yelling at the play calling and lack of blocking. Need to get rid of that blocking and use a scheme better fitted to our lineman.

I was however pleased with Courtel Jenkins. For a true Freshman, he looked like a 5 star. Barrios plays tough. KC needs to start at tackle. We have a great freshman class but it is ridiculous that we are not in a position to redshirt most of them. I can actually envision the D-Line being really good by next year. Of course my vision might still be blurry from last night.

Just very disappointing.

That elite quite was only referring to the 3 and out stat.
There was good push up front defensively when more than 3 rushed. Didn't like playing coverage and rushing 3 early on.
Offensively I'd like to see Coley call similar to fsu does for Winston. Spread it out, simple route short combos and take some shots here and there.
Definitely needs some shake up on the right side of the Oline.

Sometimes I feel like there's a string attached to AG's back

Don't speak of next year. That's how you get jaded into false hope. Chickillo is gone as is DP and whichever JRs declare. DL get good LBs regress. Play to your strengths because you will always have weaknesses. We are the only team who need everything to be a strength. ....and even then it's a struggle to win a game against a team with a pulse

Has this staff ever gone in at half and made meaningful adjustments? The kind where you come out and dominate the second half?

I can't recall not one ******* time under Golden.

I can live with the way the defense played

But honestly we only looked good bcuz Huertelou and Courtel look like future NFL DTs

That would be fine but amounts to two very obvious open spots that were thought to be shaky even before the game started so this wouldn't exactly shake up the team and create fear. Coley would scoff at being sat--he's their realest threat at explosion in an offense that'll need it desperately. When a real game comes they don't have the luxury of sitting him. They really don't have a lot that they can do--sound and fury signifying nothing.
