golden just has to go

Personally I think a guy like Jeremy Pruitt would be awesome. guy is an elite recruiter, just a question of whether he could put a staff together.

And whether he could actually lead it, right?

Yeah, He might not be ready. Seems like a rising star though.

Saban guys are hit or miss, but imagine that defense...

With the salary situation, they are gonna have to take a chance on a relative unknown.

The bold is incorrect.

The next coach has to be a sure thing and the money is there.

Maybe you know something but...

According to USA Today, Golden earned $2,250,943 this season, ranking 42nd of the 121 salaries the newspaper was able to report and behind at least six ACC coaches.

That isn't "established coach" money, that is why they hired Shannon and Golden. Mike London, a former police officer, makes more money...

The money isn't there, And assistant coaches aren't gonna play for Bucth Davis if other schools are offering more money. Assistant coaches are hired mercenaries these days, there is no loyalty.

Obviously private schools salaries are mostly estimated or based on rumor so maybe he ranks higher, but Golden is possibly owed buyout money through 2019, several million dollars worth...

Maybe a new president, athletic director, and a some heavy hitting boosters changes priorities.

Wow. I'm trying to be nice but your post was wrong on many levels.

Please educate yourself and don't be a potato.

Rob Chudzinski or Tom Herman will be the next head coach at Miami. Outside shot at a guy like Hudspeth.

Herman is my choice. What he did with Ohio State's offense last year with 3 different QB's was simply unreal.

Why Chud?

He turned down NFL OC jobs to stay as an assistant coach to Pagano. I guess it Seems like he is waiting for something to open up, but why would he be a successful college Head coach?

Herman is Interesting. What OSU did last year was amazing.

Personally I think a guy like Jeremy Pruitt would be awesome. guy is an elite recruiter, just a question of whether he could put a staff together.

What about Chad Morris?

It will be interesting to see how Herman and Morris do with Houston and SMU.

But even if they are successful, I'm not sure either would jump at the Miami job unless we overpay ... They both have Texas ties.

GUYS I REALIZED THIS IS just Goldens first year. Lets give the guy at least two more years to turn it around. Herbstreit was right when he said that turning a program around doesn't take over night. Our recruiting is better so lets give the guy a chance to develop the talent he has to deal with.

Do you realize how vastly overpaid Folden is if we take as truth your claim that he's the 42nd highest paid coach in D1 football? He's the worst HC in FBS, yet he's in the top 3rd in salary. That completely refutes any claim that UM doesn't or can't pay when they're overpaying in such a dramatic fashion for Folden.

Are you serious? If anything Golden needs another extension. He stuck it out through thick and thin. I have faith Al will turn it around.

dammit mane... I'm a Pro Golden guy now and I think he should keep his job b/c its not easy being a coach at Miami, just ask Macho who only wins 1 game a year at his highschool b/c he can't get the talent.

I wouldn't even count this as Golden's first year. I'd call it a trial year. Frankly, we're now under the "FAN" cloud of unreasonable expectations. As long as the unreasonable expectations continue, so shall the cloud. I fully expect several more trial years under the unreasonable fan base, while Golden recruits a more reasonable one, thereby declouding the beclouded cumulo nimbus.

It all makes perfect sense.

Yup...I say we give him a lifetime deal if that poor soul finds a way to win 7 or 8 games with such a TOUGH schedule

A well known figure in south florida football and I chatted this morning. i asked about coaching changes and he said "golden dont get it. he never will. Williams is he worst. he can't develop players and the local community can't stand him. Carroll couldn't coach wr's but the recruits at least liked him. Golden just wont fire anyone."

Keep in mind, this individual was pro-golden. he also wants Mario as the next coach which is def not my choice. it still seems like williams is a cancer on our staff among the local community. honestly, i just hope golden is gone after this year.

Why does this keep coming up?

Seriously ... The love for Butch and Mario to be the next HC continually blows my mind.

Butch shouldn't blow your mind as he has had real success AT MIAMI.

Mario shouldn't blow your mind either because our fanbase is full of potatoes. [Ignoring the fact that he is a terrible HC] They're incapable of thinking outside the box and many believe that the next HC has to have some connection to Miami.

Same thing Bama simpletons thought as well. Had to be somebody that either played for Bear or coached for him. Nobody could understand what it took to win @ Alabama. If they didn't have that quality. Finally someone grew a brain and hired Saban.

Honestly williams attitude and personality doesnt mesh well with some of the people down here

Not just in S.FL, dude is just a weirdo.

I keep hearing all this stuff about Paul Williams not fitting in, the recruits not liking him, him being a "weirdo" etc.... I know the guy is a terrible DB coach because I can see the product on the field. Can anyone give me an example of why he is such a weirdo and why he is so greatly disliked? Just curious.
