Golden in big games

Wasnt OSU a big game in 2011?

Wasnt UF a big game last year?

At the times those games were considered big and we won, doesn't matter if those teams sucked later on

If we beat FSU and they end of up losing the rest of their games, does that mean we didn't win another big game

It's now we have to remember just how frustrated FSU must have been during Bobby B's tenure when FSU went a stretch of 12 YEARS without winning at the OB. Every time they showed up something went wrong (ghosts of the OB)....One of these days the worm is going to turn back in our favor & I'm not saying it's going to be Sat. night but nothing stays the same forever. GO CANES!

Well Franchise..... its always has to start somewhere right. Do you just wake up and become relevant again. If we pull off the upset and win out the season, people will look back at these stretches of games and say that is when the light turned on for the Canes of now. So this could be the start of the return to glory or it might not be. Knocking off #3 UCLA back in the day was Butch's signature win that started the momentum. That is all I am saying.

Optimism is flowing from FSU being on the edge of losing to 4 mediocre teams this year and UM playing better football now than we've played since Folden's been here. This FSU team isn't all that great, and UM is playing pretty well.

The x factor is Folden and his inability to beat any teams with a pulse. EVER.

I don't blame OP for being in "show me" mode because basically all Folden's done is beat 3 really bad teams convincingly. That's what we used to almost always do. Now, when we do it, our starved fans go crazy hoping it's a sign of return to glory.

I've got no interest in the foolishness of trying to equate this game to some great moment in UM history. Like I said, we're so starved we are grasping at straws.

Win this game, and it's meaningless if we turn around and lose to UVA or Pitt. Win it and win out and then we can start talking about turning the corner. That's when you'll know things might actually be changing.

Lose this game, and it's a wrap.

It's clearly a very significant game, but I'm done with all the "this reminds me of (insert great win or significant turn around moment)" nonsense. Win it and keep winning. Then, we can all look back at this as a big turn around event.

A little known fact. If Golden beats Free Shoes three times in a row, he will be .500 against them, just like Radio.

Sad when you need SIX years and a miracle to be as "good" as Radio. :O

How does it not matter if they ended up sucking later on? This should be good.....

Later on? Golden's BIG Wins have one thing in common. They came against opponents who won less than 6 games that season.

Lets see if ANY other fan base would slurp a coach, and demand he get more than 4 years, if his best wins came against 4-8 and 5-7 opponents.

And Golden's WORST performance has been in recruiting. S FL elite talent is EVERYONES EXCEPT the U.

By any intelligent analysis, beating Duke this year is Golden's ONLY good win. That says a LOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, UVA is a HUGE game. It will solidify a third in the Coastal finish, maybe, but more importantly, will give Golden a 2-2 record aginst perhaps the worst coach in history (Radio included), who has never won more than 4 games in any season at UVA, and TWO of his 7 total wins at UVA came against Golden.

We win big against bad teams, unlike the last few years. Think we got something going. Them Criminoles are due for an L, and I think dem Canes are gonna be the one to deliver it!

Im with Ball on this. At the time the games were played they were HUGE and we won. It's the gameday mentality. Is that good enough?

No. Where was Golden's magic "Gameday" mentality when we choked and puked against a bad UL and GT, and a laughable NU t6eam coached by a Golden 2.0?

THIRD IN THE COASTAL! AGAIN!

How many years will it take Golden to get us up to Duke's level?

London won 8 games i think in El Foldo first year

It's not that we beat three bad teams. It's how we beat them.

No matter how bad a team was the past three years, if u were in a power conference, we struggled to win.

Three dominating performances in a row have not been seen here since golden came on.

Saturday is the big test to see if we've turned the corner and the way we played the last three games gives you hope the result could be different than in the past

All valid points but lets look at the other side. We didn't just lose to UL, NU and GT, it's how we lost to them.......so the argument goes both ways

Agree 100%. I think we are being set up for another epic fail. DO not see how we can compete, unless fsu just implodes.

That's the point ...golden has never beaten a team of substance. Anybody with any sense doesn't really care about beating a big name school if they suck. What pleasure can u get from beating a 4-8 team rather they call themselves florida or south west southern Texas?

Golden has never won a real big game. he's won some fake ones for guys like you.

Once again at the time they were big games correct?

What happens if we beat FSU and they lose out and finished unranked? Guess not a big game right
