While I am all for enthusiasm for "Florida State Week" it genuinely feels like there is so much false hope being created as we have won 3 games against bad teams. It feels that the fan base is at a tipping point with Al and that if we win, he "gets it" again and has us on the right path after, UL,NU, GT debacles or that if he loses he shouldn't even show up to work on Sunday. Makes zero sense to put 4 years of work into a one game judgement. With that being said, Al Golden has never, ever had a signature win in his entire coaching career. How is anyone getting their hopes up that it will be any different against a team that has won 25 straight? Please enlighten me

It's not that we beat three bad teams. It's how we beat them.

No matter how bad a team was the past three years, if u were in a power conference, we struggled to win.

Three dominating performances in a row have not been seen here since golden came on.

Saturday is the big test to see if we've turned the corner and the way we played the last three games gives you hope the result could be different than in the past

All valid points but lets look at the other side. We didn't just lose to UL, NU and GT, it's how we lost to them.......so the argument goes both ways

Different times of the year and I always throw out GT because they are such an anomaly that gives everyone including other good teams such a headache. We are playing better ball right now than we have played in Al entire tenure. All three phases working well. Besides that, even the sun shines on a dogs *** someday. This saturday seems like as good as day as any. It wont matter cuz if he wins the next argument is going to be, well he got lucky but now can he win consistently. Psshhh isn't even worth the debate. The team is getting better and that really is all i care about.

we will find out how much better they've gotten against FSU a team with talent and knows how to win. beating the bad teams the way we should of for the last decade is certainly a major positive step and am not disputing one bit of it. the true test will be how the coaches coach and players play in the big game against a team of equal/superior talent.

I couldn't agree more. This is the absolute true test and Al's saving grace if there is such a thing. We have to play hard and play perfect.

There was more hype last year because both teams were undefeated. This year there is a sense that free shrimp U is vulnerable and we are playing just well enough to win.

Some times that all it takes. Just win, even if its ugly, of if they are playing bad or whatever. Doesn't matter who, it only matters that you do. Remember back in 1998 when we went 5-6. All hope was lost there too. The next year we knocked off #3 UCLA who everyone in the world thought we didn't have a chance against. It just so happens that, that one game jumped started a momentum that led to the most talented college football team ever assembled.

That is the type of Signature Win Golden sorely needs and I think we are due for an amazing upset.

Optimism is flowing from FSU being on the edge of losing to 4 mediocre teams this year and UM playing better football now than we've played since Folden's been here. This FSU team isn't all that great, and UM is playing pretty well.

The x factor is Folden and his inability to beat any teams with a pulse. EVER.

I don't blame OP for being in "show me" mode because basically all Folden's done is beat 3 really bad teams convincingly. That's what we used to almost always do. Now, when we do it, our starved fans go crazy hoping it's a sign of return to glory.

This.

there will be plenty of time for recrimination if we lose. enjoy the build-up. these are the reasons why we love college fb.

don't be a debbie downer all the time. just during and after the game, if necessary

Well Franchise..... its always has to start somewhere right. Do you just wake up and become relevant again. If we pull off the upset and win out the season, people will look back at these stretches of games and say that is when the light turned on for the Canes of now. So this could be the start of the return to glory or it might not be. Knocking off #3 UCLA back in the day was Butch's signature win that started the momentum. That is all I am saying.

just enjoy the game man. we haven't beaten them at home for 10 years. just be loud and do your job.

I would be fine with these posts trying to temper everyone's enthusiasm if they came from a fan emotion protection place. Unfortunately, these are just guys trying to protect their anti-golden agenda. To that I say, stfu.
