It's called "legal consideration". Eichorst hired Golden at UM so he's the one who structured the contract.

Hocutt hired Golden. Eichorst extended him on his way out the door to Nebraska. Both acts had Shalala's fingerprints all over it. Remember in a 2 year span from 2011 to 2013 we went from Hocutt to Eichorst to Hernandez to Blake James. There's a reason for so much turnover at AD and a reason why Blake James was promoted to the position.

Yes. I wondered years ago why he didn't sue for "fraud in the inducement". I guess I now know. He basically waived it in exchange for the various contract amendments (increased pay and protections, etc.) that UM is now ******** him over on.

No wonder he seemed like he didn't want to be here his last few years. And now that this has gone public, what respectable coach would want to come here and work for these incompetent, sleazy, backstabbers?
