Why wait? We should fire him today so that we save our recruiting class. Our team is weak. Can't even compete with Cincy. Clean house and get a head start on rebuilding this soft team.

Yes, but who will come in right now as a permanent replacement. It will be tough to recruit with an interim coach. On the other hand, there is no question that Folden is gone. He is as good as interim. Butch, Tressel, Strong who might be fired at UT, Fuente - a big name right now is the remedy. This season is lost. Bring in a quality coach to recruit for next year and beyond.

If up to Admin, I still say after GT in order to get a jump on finding the next coach. But I honestly think there is a real chance he loses the next 4 or 5 and resigns.

I'll think they'll let him finish the year which is a mistake. Fire him now and get the next guy in asap to start recruiting.

Get Butch or any half way competent now so he can save the decent croots!

You know, everyone knew that Folden was as good as gone well before this season started. Did anyone really think he was capable of leading this team to the ACC Coastal Championship. I have to snicker when I even mention ACC Coastal Championship as a coaching success. If everyone knew that Folden could not save his job with a good record this year, then why wasn't he fired immediately after the Duck Bowl loss? The UM Administration has dragged its heals while fantasizing about some type of half-baked miracle year.

UM will hold on to this loser for the remainder of the year. They're not going to a bowl game. Why bother to bring in an interim coach? All it would do is save Folden the embarrassment of a losing season. The only advantage to firing him ASAP is if a permanent replacement is ready to step in. This season will not be salvaged, but with a decent permanent coach in place, UM might be able to land some decent recruits. If a quality permanent replacement is ready to step in right now, then by all means fire Folden and his sidekicks. But if no permanent replacement is available right now, then let Folden sweat and squirm as UM turns in another embarrassing season.
