It's been stated many times that the buyout at the end the season reduces dramatically. Would it not make sense to announce that he has been notified that he will be let go at the end of the season? Would that not put him in a position where he would have to go of his own accord and avoid the extra cost of the buyout?

I would think that he would then know he has to leave now in order to still be employable by anyone in the future...

F**k the money. This scumbag is getting these kids hurt. At this point, they should sue the school for reckless endangerment.

Fire him now and have the dumb midget b*tch who gave him that contract make up the difference.

You know what?

The dumba$$es who gave Golden the extension should have to pay out the rest.

UM shouldn't!

What genius or rather jenius would do something so stupid?

At this point it's about pride and legacy. No amount of money should be put before our program and alums. Just shows you where the admins head is at

I say announce he will not return and with him being so prideful he may just decide not to coach the rest of the season.

****, Gerry Faust resigned before that now other famous 58 pt whipping (and ND did score, BTW).

Golden and his agent have no honor, they just want $$$

The buyout has to be the only reason he's allowed to continue. Must be a major decrease in the amount at the end of the season. Which would explain why BJ is so set on waiting till then. Because AG took Miami to its lowest point after 5 seasons today. For most programs that would follow with an immediate termination. The good thing is the fact that no matter what, he's done after this. End of the season or now it don't matter. Most of the strong candidates won't be able to be interviewed until after the season anyway. Would much prefer to get rid of dude right now though. Just depressing...

While we are just getting the coach search mechanism set up, the strong candidates will have already accepted offers from schools who were proactive and a step ahead of us.

That's my worry - the best candidates are going to be locked up by the time we start our search.

It they're a current coach they won't get permission until after the regular season is over. Right now any discussion or talk is preliminary with agents.

You ever notice how in the nba and nfl deals get signed literally the minute after they are officially allowed to talk. DON'T BE NAIVE.

Al Golden is the real winner in all of this. Making millions to fail. I respect him for that. He's winning and we're all losing. Can't even hate.

in his time here, he has been paid over $10,000,000.00 to destroy our program. His agent should win an award
