Golden has no one to blame but himself. If he simply had hired a defensive coordinator his troubles would be over. Coley has his faults but has never cost Golden a game.
It has always been the defense who cost UM games by giving up massive amount of yards. His loyalty is something I admire and will always respect Golden as a man. But you can't be a leader if you are afraid or can't make tough decisions. Randy fired his best friend Walton after one year of being a DC. Which helped Walton in the long run because he got a job in the NFL as a positions coach and is now a DC.
I respect his loyalty but it is the reason I dislike him. To think that a simple DC change and UM is a top 10 team again makes me sick to my stomach. I under stand loyalty but Golden what about your kids and family? I am sure if he had the chance D'Onfrio would have fired Golden to save his career and family. Not being able to make tough decisions means that he was never fit to be a coach
