Go get the clemson guy and call it a day

The last 2 regimes haven’t changed your opinion of Xs and Os vs Johnny and joes?

I don’t know how u can watch superior talent lose to scrubs, over and over again, and still believe it’s all about the talent?

I prefer a good OC and great recruiter. That is Tee Martin.

How did our offense look with a freshman QB? And Tee had a true freshman. The truth is there is more evidence to support he is a good OC than not. Stats don't lie. The "he had Sam Darnold" is a lazy argument bc the fact is he DID have Sam Darnold and he DID perform with him. JT is no Sam Darnold. JT is no Tua. Chances are more likely that your offense will struggle if a kid that graduated high school less than a year ago is now your starting QB in D1.
That's just a massive drop off. Also, if he was the elite recruiter, as many say he is, why were they forced to use a true freshman QB? Shouldn't they have had a QB on deck knowing SD could bolt at any time?

I just don't see how Tee Martin is a top name.

He got 22 Top-100 kids to come to USC. Again, stats don't lie. There is way more evidence to support him being a good hire than not.

For the record, IF we hire Martin I will do my best to stay positive. I'll give him a chance. He absolutely can't be worse than what we've seen the last several years. He's just not the splash hire I was hoping, and kind of expecting. I wanted someone that would give us a schematic advantage. If Martin can do that, then let's roll. If not, it's going to get ugly.

91st in scoring without the NFL QB that made the O run. Does he need a first round QB for his system to work? The reason I ask is because we haven't had one of those in many, many years.

JT was only a few months renov

Im saying that im willing to give him a chance before i label him as a "bad hire'. Almost any offense would struggle with QB who is only a few months removed from high school. Even with that true freshman USC only scored under 24 points 3 times all year. One of which was their second game of the season. I'd say he did a pretty good job considering the situation.

So Tee Martin was one of many staff members who was told how to use USC's recruiting autopilot?

Your initial post said you’d rather take the better recruiter. My point is that I’d rather take the better coach.

My OP said I'd rather take the more realistic hire who is also an ELITE recruiter. Regardless, Fedora and Applewhite are not the better coach.

Why? We have interest from Tee Martin.
tee martin is also a pro style coach. I have yet to see him run a modern offense . he doesn't run spread which is what diaz wants wont be martin and are tweets to back that up from footballscoop

Were either fired from play calling, or get HC jobs after their OC gigs? Just wondering what a successful OC looks like.

Fedora and Applewhite are not great coaches. The point I made was that Tee was a good coach and a great recruiter. Your questions are irrelevant to my point.

Ok HERE ME OUT.

Co-OC’s... Scott gets to come and call the plays which is a promotion. Tee Martin gets to avoid the embarrassment of a demotion and learn the ins and outs of a more spread friendly system.

Boom.

So if Martin is a GOOD coach, but got fired, but Applewhite and Fedora are not better than good because they got promoted?

Yeah. Right. You think Scott can't get an OC job calling plays? No way he comes as a Co-Oc when he's already a Co-Oc.
