Whittingham is a little long in the tooth for that job IMO. He'll be 70 before his recruits fully populate that roster. That would be a strange hire and strange for him to want to pursue that job.
Its not like its a complete rebuild. They just won a ship 2 years ago cheating or not. A lot of talent on the roster. He needs to keep that QB, develop and build around him. Defense was still good this year. Not a bad spot for either side but I would be surprised if he's still there after the initial 5 year contract.
 
Not the topic of the thread but does this guy suck at interviews or does he not want to be a head coach or something?
Maybe he gets asked about Kiffin ******** his wife (allegedly) then the interview goes off the rails
 
Hiring Biff Poggi to be the head man would have had Michigan in the bottom five of the Big Ten in three years
