Gentleman I do not live on these boards and am not aware of Al Golden posts. Work on your reading comprehension. I said do not change the narrative. I said he sucked at coaching. I am just tired of hearing today and last year that the talent was and is not here. I am actually criticizing Golden more vigorously. Do not go off on the same rant you typically spew. Is Kaaya going Rd 1? Is Mark Walton one of the better backs in the country? Is Stacy Coley a big time talent? Do we have the best TE core in the country? Is the defensive line as a whole very strong even with the loss of a first Rd talent in AQM?

Notice I have around 7 posts so I do not live in this neighborhood. I have just been a fan for thirty five years and know good talent when I see it. If he was a better coach he would have recruited even better, but unfortunately he was not.

OP, please understand that giving Golden and staff credit for bringing in talent to Miami is akin to Germans giving Hitler credit for timely pickup of trash and recyclables.

OP,

Your post and points are valid.

It was not his recruiting it was philosophies that ultimately doomed. If he had our defenses flying around like we are doing so far this year he would have been fine.

But ultimately he wouldn't fire D'no or change his style of defense.

***** recruited slow secondaries at miami tf lol we have no sideline to sidelibe safeties. We had no um caliber lbs perryman and grace three years apart. We finally got three in one class it should always be like that. Running back havent been an elite back here with breakaway speed since forever our OL are *** since forever.

Nobody said he didn't bring in talent, just that He didn't bring in ENOUGH talent. Also, thanks for another post about al.

Golden brought in more talent than JAGS, his issue was misusing the type of players he recruited, plus his ***** *** stubborness to run the right scheme

Right, probably should have passed on Duke because he didn't have breakaway speed.

Yup, the O-line/WR/CB/S recruiting was absolutely terrific

Said nobody with a functioning brain.....

Please do not change the narrative of what I am getting across.

1. Al Golden needed to go. He was a horrible game day coach and developer of talent.

2. Mark D'Nofrio. See #1 and multiply it by 5.

3. I was tremendously happy when we brought in Mark Richt, Manny Diaz, and Coach Kool.

In all honesty I am tired of hearing that he didn't bring in quality talent to the program. Considering that we were not winning, the self-imposed sanctions, horrible facilities, attendance, suspensions, and overall gloom hanging over program, the guy brought in players who can compete at a high level.

Offensively- Brad Kaaya may be a 1st Rd pick and is considered to be the #1 Pro style QB heading into 2017 draft. Mark Walton, Joseph Yearby, and Gus Edwards are all big time backs who were all recruited by the big boys. Stacy Coley, Braxton Berrios, Chris Herndon, and David Njoku are all big time talents and just need a OC to put them in the best position to succeed.

Defensively- Just think that we just lost AQM and Jermaine Grace to suspension just like we lost guys like Eddie Johnson, Alex Figueroa, Gionni Paul, and others years previous. Still in the stable were players like Demetrius Jackson, Chad Thomas, Kenrick Norton, RJ McIntosh, Gerald Willis, Trent Harris, Joe Jackson, Anthony Moten, And Courtel Jenkins just on the DL (Player all committed to Golden). Throw in other guys like Quarterman, Owens, Elder, Redwine, Burns (last yr 1st Rd), Jaquan Johnson, Jamal Carter, and Rayshawn Jenkins.

I am just tired of hearing about how we need to wait until we get the players. Yes, I think Richt will bring in tremendous classes to UM. But, lets not just dismiss these guys as over achievers. The previous staff was not harnessing their talent, but they did bring in some real good players. So, if I had to grade Al Golden, I would give him a D- as a coach and a B+ (considering all circumstances) at assembling talent.

The reason Golden got some good talent is because this is The U.

If he didn't have Miamis huge championship tradition and professional pipeline to the NFL, all he woulda got was 1 & 2 star Big10, Mac , and everyone else that hadn't been plucked from South Florida.

Truth

If what you said was true why was it that he was left with guys like Shayon Green, Luther Robinson, Curtis Porter, Kelvin Cain, Tyrone Cornelius, Jimmy Gaines, Ali Highsmith, and Kacy Rodgers from the previous regime? I think that The "G" word left the cubbard a little more full. Would have been even better without all the injuries and suspensions.

TRUTH

Yes, pick out JAGs and use that to prove your point. I can point out tons of JAGs he recruited and left on the roster. If anything it's gotten a lot worse under him. Luckily for us the standard was so high that even a diminished level is high enough to outclass most of the ACC. Giving credit to Golden for recruiting at Miami is ridiculous, a baboon could recruit decently at UM, and he did.

You have to be pretty blind to think this team was lacking talent. We have more NFL talent on this team right now than most SEC teams. The App st hc said it best that Coach Richt doesn't have to rebuild he's just "retooling" and I agree 100% with that assessment.

If you subtract all the talent that golidie didn't recruit or didn't get then he's playing with band members. Nothing good can be said about that idiot.

This is dade county man, those players you listed should be the baseline of talent that we bring in. How many recruiting battles did the guy lose? And not only did he lose in the recruiting trail, his staff was **** poor at developing talent.
Paul ******* Williams? C'mon man.. this is the University of Miami not Temple or Delaware.

Can anyone name a worse recruiter at Miami than Al Golden? I'll hang up and listen.

Also, we had a God awful OC who collected a paycheck just for his ability to recruit. His credits include Brad Kaaya and Stacy Coley. That's a lot of money for a really good QB and an underperforming WR.
