I don't blame golden for lack of player development. That's the got **** reason we have position coaches. Any level headed person can see that. I DO blame golden for inability to change those position coaches.

Gionni Paul, LB, Utah: It's time to start recognizing the quality of this Utah defense. The front seven has been sturdy this season. On Thursday, the Utes allowed only 4.7 yards per play against Oregon State. They also recorded five more sacks, pushing their conference-best total to 33. Most importantly, the defense was again fundamentally sound across the board, so let's put a sticker on Paul's helmet -- he led the unit with 14 tackles.

That's not the head coach of Utahs doing. That's his position coach teaching him the right thing to be instinctual.

He did that against a ranked Oregon St. Team that gave FSU trouble. That's not the head coach of Utahs doing. That's his position coach teaching him the right thing to be instinctual.

When did FSU play Oregon St?

But Micheal Barrow is a really good LB coach. It is all on the head coach and his silly scheme

O.S.U. is all the O.S.U.'s combined, man, didn't you know? So, anyway, it should also be noted that this was done against an Urban Meyer coached team.

Starts with the HC. HC is responsible for player development.

This. Golden should hire proper position coaches and coordinators. It's like a CEO hiring an accountant with a poor track record then shifting the blame to the accountant. Starts at the top

starts with kirby for hiring him and donna and james for defending him. the man was a mid major coach who never won a conference title or 10 games. he was a coach at schools like VA, Penn St, BC, etc he was from the Al Groh coaching tree and in the past miami would never even interview Groh. bottom line, he has no business coaching here, it will never work. i guess they want him to deplete the roster with a bunch of de-commits first.

We had Paul up to the end of his sophomore year when he was 3rd on the team in total tackles.
Hard to make a claim that he wasn't being developed.
It's not like he left because he was buried deep in the depth chart.
There are enough examples to bash Golden and staff on .. This is not one of them.

You're a jerk off. Get lost loser. The new age characters are awful. FU and the horse you road in on. Golden and his *** buddy Doh'Nofrio need to go. Their sceam and teaching ability is terrible. They suck, that's it...next. If Butch is even the slightest possibility it needs to be vetted. Other than that the AD needs to earn his keep...Go Canes!

boh Eddie Johnson & Gionni Paul had issues unrelated to player development and were asked to leave..... tragedy is Johnson who is not even in school and could have played on Sundays... Gionni was always around the ball, instinctive player who made plays . what do you think our D would look like with those 2 guys on the field, even with the scheme we'd be OK

Neither of these cases were the staffs fault, the had serious off the field issues that Golden gambled on...Eddie Johnson got into a bad verbal altercation with coach Barrow and multiple suspensions for curfew and discipline reasons.... as you can see he isnt even playing football anymore..... Gionni Paul had the same problems just not arguing with Barrow.... coming out of high school he had 12 offers, none from Florida or FSU. .... Miami, Az state, Michigan, Tennessee, Louisville, USF were his best offers but they pulled back offers except Miami and Az State.... they were actually producing for us, they just made bad decisions. ..so dnt blame the staff for those mess ups

Micheal Barrow is a good recruiter as for LB coach Randy moved him out of the position because our LB play was so bad. I believe he may have disagreed with Golden's defensive philosophy which many people do.

Side note:

RT @mattyports: Former Hurricanes LB Gabe Terry (Palm Beach Central HS), now at Tennessee State, is T-6th in FCS in sacks, with 8.5.

We truly blaming the staff for idiot players that couldn't keep themselves out of trouble. This board is really in need of serious clean up

Man, if we had Terry, Paul, Johnson and Figs. I wish they could've gotten their ish together we need them. Our LB depth is atrocious.

Maybe a player here and there. But losing 30 of 70 recruits in a 3 year period is a sign of bigger problems. It's like a self imposed sanction that's impossible to overcome. In no setting anywhere in America is it normal to have almost 50% attrition except for BUDS(navy seal school).

We used to **** on ole Urbie for all the issues that were going on over at UF, ppl love to come down on Jimbo for all the Jameis bs... at the end of the day the CEO is responsible for whats going on. And when bad stuff is going down, you have to be responsible for that.
