Gilbert Frierson vs Clemson (video)

Gil has been ballin this season. All reports had me believing the Keontra was coming for his job. Maybe coaches should play younger guys at other spots as well and let competition play out. Weird that the only spot we truly heard about an upperclassman losing his job is for one of the biggest bright spots on our defense.

Goes to show we have to stop giving up on guys just because they dont pop in there first 2 years here. I dont know how we got so spoiled to the point where if a guy isnt at legendary status by the time he is a sophomore he is considered a bum. Let these kids develop and come into there own. Especially on defense. Kudos to Gil! Keep it going!

Thought Frierson played pretty well overall. Not crazy about jawing to the next #1 overall pick in the end zone while we're getting our **** pushed in, and he did something else kinda dumb but that's just one of my pet peeves. If he's got that dogg in him...

That first play was terrible though. I know he is guarding Amari Rodgers, but that was just a complete lack of technique and watching to much in the backfield. Overall he played well yesterday.

Smith was getting more burn and Gil wouldn't have seen a lot of the field if not for Smith's ejection.

Credit goes to Gil for stepping up and making some plays, his time to shine and show he can be the starter going forward now.

There 2 of our best players, need to find a way to get gil and smith on the field at the same time. Smith should’ve gone in at saftey instead of Balom, in fact smith should start at saftey over carter and maybe even over hall.

Reminds me of that duke safety Jeremy cash from duke who was a baller a little bit from some years back with how well he plays close to the line of scrimmage but he also combines that with good coverage ability. Excited at what he’s becoming
