With so many job openings at top programs...and very few quality HC candidates to fill those...the time to act is now. It sounds like we've reached terms with our new AD so let's get it done. In this instance, the early bird will get the worm. Yes, these are important hires (crucial to the trajectory of the program over this decade) but speed is of the essence here to get the best coach available to us before UF, LSU, USC and others take them. Any of the candidates below could be hired quickly:

1) Lane Kiffin
2) Mario Cristobal
3) Mark Stoops

Waiting could be absolutely disastrous.

Hope the Admin makes all of their moves really efficiently or we could be stuck with a much less talented coach. The time to act is now!

(also, you don't know wtf you're talking about and glad you aren't paid to make important decisions for a living)

You nailed it...other than the fact that I've:

  • closed transactions as large as $3 billion in my career; and
  • have won various Deal of the Year awards on both the Buy Side & the Sell Side for best deal on all of Wall Street that year; and
  • have many clients that are billionaires (and some of the smartest people in this country).

How does waiting until you have no attractive candidates left make any sense at all? USC, LSU, UF and others will all be seeking to hire the best candidates available. I know some of the main boosters at LSU & they are highly successful, intelligent & don't mess around. They find the candidate they want & then lock him down (before others do). We will be sorry, if we wait.
