You guys are completely missing the point. This is ALL on Richt. His philosophy is antiquated. He is not putting ANY of his QB’s in a position to succeed. We have a ton of talent and he can’t figure out how to use it. I’m not delusional but Richt is the issue plain and simple.

Of all the negative/questioning responses, yours is the only one that seems to be handled with any maturity. I 100% agree that we're in year 3 and it's on the coaching staff to evaluate what is and isn't working. Richt is definitely at the point where he needs to evaluate his OL coach. I'll fully admit, the playcalling can be predictable and at times questionable, but Perry was just flat out making bad throws. **** was starting to look like Tim Tebow level accuracy out there.

With all of that said, We have improved each year and have been quietly in playoff talks the last 2 years. We beat FSU the last 2 years. We finally won the Coastal, even if it is weak right now. Heat won't hit Richt from the admin for at least 2 years unless we have a monumental collapse.

People need to be careful what they wish for. Lots of very short sighted thinking on this board. Absolute worst case scenario under Richt is we have a few 3 loss seasons, maybe even a 4 loss (hope not), but we maintain strong recruiting and leave something for the next coach unlike our last few. If we go looking for the next Jimmy when we have one of the better coaches in the country (regardless of the fanbase opinion- results speak for themselves), maybe we find the next Jimmy, or maybe we find the next Golden. Maybe our next 5 potential JJs end up being the next 5 Goldens. We will fade into irrelevancy real fast under that scenario. I have higher expectations that what we're showing at this point, but some of the thoughts around here might set us back a lot farther than they realize.

What is coach worship about this? In no way did I absolve Richt of his own shortcomings in this, but people are putting blame on Richt for things that are absolutely just poor performance. Those picks Perry threw were on him. It wasn't because he was put in a bad position, it was because he just chucked the ball without any thought of other reads or coverages. Go rewatch the picks. Where was the receiver in relation to where the ball was picked off?

Richt needs to evaluate his staff and development. Some players are what they are. This isn't a video game. Players don't always just magically get better. Freshman are not always amazing.

Ima ask u these questions...1. What offensive system do u know that functions without good oline play?
2. are good olines developed over time or nah?
3. When MR system has produced (ND and Va tech for examples) how was the oline play.
I’ve said this and I’ll keep saying this. As a playcaller, oc or QB no system works with out good line play. When u have drive starters and the uva D has 6 in the box and their corners off and both safety playing back..u run the ball but if your oline gets whipped consistently it’s hard to move the ball..your saying his “philosophy” when you prolly (don’t mean to insult) can’t identify what MR schematically is tryna do. All your going off is the the result of plays, drives etc. it’s about pure execution and the oline ain’t doing it. But when they play well the O moves the ball against anybody

This we can agree on...only problem is...do you expect him to honestly evaluate his son and himself??
Also this is not just one outliner game. The offense Ritch is trying to run here does nothing nothing to help his QB or try to create positive match ups for his receivers and RB.

Making the playoffs at this point I feel is out of the question. What does Richt do to make this team better the rest of the year, and a viable playoff product for future years?

Lmao..sooo malik was worse the rest of the game than 5 was that 1st quarter and Change?? We had 14 yard in the 1st quarter. From what I seen if 12 starts we have a better chance to win that game. When 5 know what he is doing his talent takes him places 12 can’t reach on his best day..but 5 inconsistency knows what to do

We haven’t moved the ball against anyone with a decent D in a long time.
It’s his job to either fix the deficiencies or coach around them. The truth is he has been bailed out multiple times or this would look a lot worse. You can’t possibly be watching these games and blame it all on O line play. There are plenty of FBS teams out there with worse O lines who manage to put up points consistently. It doesn’t take any expertise to watch that game tonight and see that we are sub par when it comes to schematics, complexity, and diversity in the way we attack.

What complexities do u want? Honestly? You think bama is out here running play concepts that nobody else runs? U think urban isn’t running a O that has been duplicated? How about Mr harbaugh at U of M? How about Oregon and chip kelly. How’s that genius looking with a subpar oline at UCLA. All offenses who succeed run what they run. It starts at the LOS Bruh. For us in particular now it’s clear what MR wants. Positive yards running the ball to open up and get into his bag of plays. That’s y he doesn’t abandon the run. We have NO consistent run threat.

Dude, come on. What’s the first thing every team we play tries to do to our defense? Neutralize our d line because they’re usually overmatched. It has worked against us multiple times, executed by teams with lesser talent. So what? We can’t do the same thing? We can’t figure out how to use all the weapons we have (not to mention superior skill talent) to neutralize the opponents d line? If we can get beat by a lesser talented team who gameplans to mask their offensive deficiencies and maximize production why can’t I expect the same from a better coach and more talented team? I’ll tell you why .... because our coach and OC is getting out coached because he is too easy to figure out and too stubborn to adapt to his players and their strengths. That is on the coach not the o line.

Perry threw a bad pick b/c he didn't see the Safety.

The 2nd pick was a wrong route by the receiver ... as stated by Richt.

Bruh..if u know ball..then u know the coverages UVA was playing all night early on downs was 6 in the box 2 deep safety’s and off on the outside..which mean establish the run and make them adjust. Now if the oline not moving and creating space,
Answer to that is spread everything out and QB run to have a extra blocker. Which is 12s strength...point is this, teams don’t respect our run game. For a team like uva to do that tells u that. I’ll give u this example on the pro level. What’s the diff between this years eagles and the teams run to the super last year? How about the cowboys? The giants? They all have lack luster oline play. The eagles system works..no matter the level it’s on the line..now y’all that are *****ing, if u guys called out searles instead of *****ing about who the QB is I’d agree partly with that..now that it’s been proven that 12 wasn’t the problem want to point at the schematics. It’s execution
