Gerald Willis III in SB Live!!!

Lol he’s been here 1 year. You’re saying “free pass” like he’s been terrible. He’s recruited well & the dline was our best unit as a whole last season.
No one said he is “terrible” however he was handed three stars. Other than those three guys please tell me who you saw that looked good. Also you’ll find out how well he recruited when his guys hit the field.

Jess developed no one JJ, Garvin and Willis were already developed before Jess got here. Did you happen to watch when those three guys weren’t on the field? In case you missed it the backups Jess had in the rotation were far from developed, including Nesta. Jess has plenty to prove.
I'm not going to debate with you. Every one of those guys had better years more complete years. Lol

Gerald’s success has very little to do with Simpson. Jess has plenty to prove and often gets a free pass here.

True. But it doesn't stop coaches for taking credit for players..

Im sure Paul Freaking Williams tells every recruit out there he recruited and got Artie Burns in as a first round pick

That is like saying Mark Stoops was responsible for Ed Reed, P Buch, Mike Rumph and Sean! I know Meech and he doesn’t take credit for those guys, they were first rounders from the jump.

Green Bay needs someone who plays angry up front. Pairing him with Kenny Clark in Pettine's Multiple D would really anchor that defensive line in my opinion. With two first rounders I could see them trading the latter and moving back into the early/mid-second and taking him.

Sitting out a year and busting your *** on scout team is a good resume look for Gerald.

If nfl contacts Richt or Simpson/Kul that’s what they’ll be learning about. NFL guys like stories like that.

All we can judge the guy on is performance, and his unit did that. Maybe it was all the previous guy or natural talent, but that's how it goes. And do we really care if they do it because he recruits great players, or is a great coach, or some combination of the two?

No. We do not.

Who has he recruited that are great players? JJ, Gerald and Garvin were very good players. The rest of our D line was mediocre at best. The drop off was dramatic.
