So not only does Georgia fire a head coach that has brought them the most consistent success the school has ever hoped for since their last title nearly forty years ago..

They are watching their next head coach continue to help coach an in conference rival to a national title in the midst of the final month of recruiting season?

seems a little crazy that Smart will stay through the rest of the playoff. I see it from both views, just seems like they are really going to be behind the next month or so and must be pretty confident in their recruiting class to not be pushing for smart to come sooner.

I completely understand from Smart's point of view wanting to finish what he started with Alabama this year and might also be due to respect Smart has for Saban after being together for so many years to continue to help coach the team the rest of the year. He doesn't want to abandon the team when they still have a chance at something special.

also a side note, seems like it drastically helps our cause with Eason the qb. Seems like only a matter of time before he decommits and florida getting owned today helped us in that department i'm sure.

Glad Richt is out and recruiting already on third day having the job!

The irony; after Butch's last 'Canes team got screwed by the men and computers even though they beat Bobby Bowden, Mark Richt and FSU, Mark Richt left them before the NC Bowl game to start work at Georgia. Remember an FSU fan friend who always complained FSU lost its illegitimate shot at Oklahoma because "Georgia was on his mind."

Personally, I think it's a mistake on uga's end for him to stay at Bama thru the playoffs. He's gonna be wayyyyy behind with regards to recruiting and staffing. Throw in the fact that he's a first time HC.....and it could mean potential trouble down the line for the dawgs.

If Alabama wins the title Smart will get credit he can use with recruits. He needs to get a staff assembled so they can hit the trail, but his success will help land players.
Also, it's the f@$&ing championship!

Come on now you can't leave a championship chase. How mad would we be if a coordinator left Miami before the playoffs?

UGA was right in firing Richt, but they failed in their replacement coach. I like Kirby Smart but I don't know if he can take them to that next level, which is why they fired Richt.

Another way to look at it- Eason looks at uf and Miami and realizes he probably starts as a freshman at uf, or could sit two years at Miami. Obviously better coach at Miami, but a lot more playing time with the gaytor. That team is a qb away from going into the sec championship undefeated. lol hope he comes here or stays with the Dawg.

I'm not mad at smart. I said I saw it from his point and I don't blame him. I'm saying Georgia is the one getting screwed
