Georgia Tech

Good history and located in Atlanta, why don't they expect better?

Paul Johnson can’t recruit. Get rid of the triple option and recruit kids in the metro Atlanta area and they could really become something. Could attract a lot of talent if the right coach is hired

Isn't GT a tech and engineering school with higher academic standards? It's harder to recruit athletes to schools like that. You *CAN* be successful there (look at Stanford), but it's more difficult. Paul Johnson's triple option gives them a unique advantage and has been quite successful for them in the past. It also comes with considerable negatives, especially once teams get used to playing against it. I think his scheme has run its course at GT and they should look for something (and someone) new, but I understand why they turned in that direction in the first place.

Paul Johnson has kind of made himself unfireable. He wins enough to look like he's doing a good job.

You fire him it's gonna years to purge the entire program of that triple option nonsense.

Constraining themselves to an option-style offense was the worst decision they could have ever made. Georgia has a large talent base. They could get quality athletes to run a spread-like offense, even if the better ones go to UGA.

Johnson regularly walks out onto the field so he can berate a player in front of their fans, TV audiences...and parents! He blames the kids for all his failings. Besides having an offensive scheme that makes the Model-T look like a Lamborghini, he is a major league ****hole.

I think there's an issue with GT getting good players because they don't have the kind of majors to coast through. Or maybe I'm just taking a YellowJacket's word for it.
