Downtown is pretty dead. midtown and west midtown now are better areas with more to do.Plenty of hotels in Midtown but better deals usually in Downtown and can take MARTA or walk.
stayed there for a wedding and it is actually pretty nice of a hotel. If you want close, the Ga Tech Hotel and Conference Center is literally right across the street from the stadium. Like $300 a night, but books up fast on game days. It’s right in the middle of all the tailgating.
Agree .. but you have to put up with all the Ga Tech **** in the lobbystayed there for a wedding and it is actually pretty nice of a hotel.

Find something in midtown around the GT hotel. It's a nice area, right by all the tailgating across 5th street bridge and down to the stadium. The whole east midtown area is nice and potentially walkable to the stadium, depending on how close to Tech square you are.I’m taking my son and I’d like to be as close to th stadium as possible
Just bring a bunch of UM stickers and cover it all upAgree .. but you have to put up with all the Ga Tech **** in the lobby
I live in town. Do not stay downtown. Also no reason to stay in Buckhead at this point. Midtown is where things are these days.
Any of these are a 15 minute walk or less - Renaissance, Georgian Terrace, or Indigo. If you are ok with maybe another 5-10 minutes, the epicurean is brand new and people love it.
If you give your son’s ages range, I can give you some restaurant and activity recommendations too.

Atlantic Station is just north of campus and a close uber drive down, but it gives you plenty of amenities nearby when you're not at the game or on the GT campus.
For the visual types, I am attaching a map below. There is a tunnel underneath I-75/85 which I have market. Your tickets are likely to be in the southeast corner of the stadium. I have also market the spot east of the interstate where the tailgate was held two years ago, and many of us walked from that location.
The area east of the interstate is Midtown. There are plenty of hotels AND parking garages on that side.
Depending on the time of the game, I am probably going to plan something to be held at Ladybird Mess Hall and Provisions. Great spot.
For those who are staying through Sunday, I may also set up a brunch at Canoe.
Check out those two spots and let me know if you're interested. I'm not knocking Ponce City Market or any other spot, but those places aren't quite as unique.

Wasn’t a bad walk at all!Sorry, forgot to type CanesUnited. It was in that surface parking lot I marked on NE 4th Street.
