“The Bulldogs paid Wilson a total of $30,000 from the disputed contract. Because of the way the deal was crafted, Georgia says Wilson owed it $390,000 in a lump sum within 30 days of his decision to leave the team. Drummond declined to comment when asked why the damage fees were much higher than the amount Wilson was paid.”

Good luck with that in court

surprised oh my GIF

How do these kids not have a lawyer look at these contracts first.
Wonder if Miami has something similar in their contracts

Just sending a message out there. I think more teams should do this. You should be tied to the terms of your contract or face whatever penalties are dictated in the contract. This is a business now.

If you're referring to Darren Heitner, he is also Xavier Lucas's attorney, and a UM Law professor. He is one of the best attorneys in this industry.
If they win it’ll flip the system upside down. Every coach who breaks contract will now actually have to honor terms of contract. So, be careful what you wish for.
