My bad I got it wrong on that one… haven’t driven to or around Athens but I’ve driven through GA plenty and they are everywhere. GSP is ridiculous on 95

This is facts. I live in GA, cops are literally everywhere here. Playing football in Athens must require a special kind of dumbass.

Cops everywhere in every city on every highway, from the interstate to the highways to the main in-town roads to side streets. I live in Sandy Springs, work about 5 miles from my house in Dunwoody. I drive through Dunwoody to get to work. Had my radar detector on one night and came across 4 cops in different locations all running radar. And this is a regular occurrence. I-75, I-95, I-16 all ridiculous (I don't traverse I-20 much at all, but assume the issue is the same). Georgia is obscene on this front. Like no other state I have ever seen.

Glynn County. Way down south on I-95 by the Florida border.

I am always careful in Georgia I95 during my Maryland-Florida drives as I always see considerable GHP presence and as someone else noted, they hide themselves pretty well. My assumption was that the Georgia I95 stretch was only two hours and people had tendency to hit the gas, especially those headed to Florida, especially after 6 hours in the Carolinas.
