Tears Georgia Puppy Dog tears

I was one of those that did not believe it would level the field. Still unbelievable to me, also I feel like if Manny was HC it wouldn’t have helped us. Maybe I am wrong on that one to though. NIL with Mario is crazy elite

We would not be as succesfull

There's still a group of Cane fans on X who swear Manny would do just as well as Mario if he had the resources like Mario

TrumpyCane asks them a simple question

"Why didn't Manny get the resources like Mario did"
For some reason these ninjas cap for Manny. Like Duke don’t got money? They show their bread on the basketball side every recruiting cycle, so I don’t want to hear excuses for Manny. He dead *** hotdog water and would not do **** with this nil. Cause if someone matched our offer with him as HC, we would not close cause the second most important thing is relationships and Manny is fake asf and kids smell that a mile away. No one convincing me 5 stars came to UM for free under Manny. He just dont know **** about evals or trenches. Hope FSU hires him so those same fans can look goofy asf when he fails. But they will have a cope excuse that FSU is broke.

He not an alpha period

I would say that football is more important to Bama than any other P4 school. They will always have money to spend. Just not enough money to secure 20 top 100 players every recruiting cycle. They will have to pick and choose who to spend money on and then have to evaluate and develop other, cheaper players. The days of just signing nothing but 5 stars and letting them sort it out in practice are over.
That is everyone now but they just had the #2 class in the country last year. Bama can go toe to toe with anyone when it comes to $. Difference these days is players can get similar amounts and not have to go to these hole in the wall college towns to get it or win.

Ask them why the OB was lost under Manny’s dad and then watch them spontaneously combust.

I think some folks are dramatically overplaying their GT assessment. GT is a very strange school with appreciably more grad students than undergrad---roughly 33,000 to 20,000. Grad students obviously can care about sports too and some GT grad students were Gt undergrads as well but I've looked thru lots of data cuts of alumni wealth and GT is nowhere to be found.

Here are some numbers. Lots of other ways to cut alumni wealth data.

Manny didn’t even have the depth to understand the things this program lacked to promote and sustain success. Nothing against him, Rio just was far more astute and serious about the state of the program.

Bama and Clemson are the real losers in the NIL battle. They don't have the media markets or billionaire boosters to keep up. It was inevitable that they would fail once capitalism took over and the Good Ole Boys club couldn't illegally corner the market.

I would have thought Georgia with Atlanta and a decent number of ultra-wealthy "friends of the program" could have held par. But they haven't adapted, and in this era it's adapt or die.
They got used to giving players 50k and a Dodge Challenger to play for them, lol

I distinctly remember certain posters being vehemently against NIL because they thought that Bama and UGA would just outspend everyone. Not realizing that the alumni bases of these southern universities aren’t exactly loaded with billionaires.
And Saban knew what time it was. That's why he got out of dodge with his legacy in tact. He knew once everyone could pay players, his massive talent advantage over other teams would be done.

I’ve been in the room with the GT alumni who have this level of money and more, all of whom played sports at GT.
Also in the room was the GT athletic director as he was giving the presentation to a small group. His presentation was about needing more money.

They have the alumni, they just don’t seem to use it well.

Sounds familiar, right? But if they ever decide they want to take it seriously, they could be a powerhouse, especially in basketball with that alumni base.
