Miami is also getting a head start on some of the best 2028 prospects in the state of Georgia.

Overall, the best in Georgia across all classes were buzzing about Miami at this event. There is a lot to be excited about around The U.

Gonna bump given our 2 most recent commits were Georgia kids.

And I genuinely would like an answer if anybody knows?

As a Carrollton alumnus I have to say probably Buford from this group if we are talking about recently. Carrollton is producing a lot of talent with our 2028/2029 classes. I don’t think anyone in the state of Georgia can compare to our 2028/2029. But Buford pulls from two different counties and Gwinnett county just have so many power 4 kids that a lot of other counties just can’t compare

Appreciate the response.

I haven't really followed Georgia HS football until recently, so all I really knew about was Buford, Grayson, Lowndes, Colquitt & Westlake.

But it looks like Carrollton has really sprung up there as being one of the highest talent producers in the state.

No problem homie. With transferring becoming much more popular in the state of Georgia, Carrollton has taken advantage of it and have kids coming in during middle school years.

No. Florida has open transfer and Georgia doesn’t. Carrollton’s RB last year had to sit out his junior year cause he moved from Buford.

Edit: You are suppose to make a bonafide move to be eligible to play immediately after transferring. But there are ways around it. But it will require either moving with someone else or kids having their own apartment

I lived in ATL for 10 years, just moved back to NorCal. In terms of big recruits I guess Buford University plucks the best kids. I think the South GA schools have the best home grown talent imo.

Douglass has talent, especially DB recruits but lately they’ve been getting plucked(Casey Barner) because APS resources aren’t the best. Westlake seems to always have some solid players as well and has a solid NFL pipeline

South GA historically had crazy resources, booster support & played the best football. Don’t think it’s still the case. The communities on the outskirts of Atlanta have changed the football landscape dramatically over the last 20 years. There’s talent all over the state, including outposts folks have probably never heard of, but Atlanta outskirts have the resources & produce players in larger quantities.

My older brother moved to Powder Springs in 1994, and in his opinion, it's Buford first and Grayson second when it comes to consistently producing top football talent.

Georgia is absolutely loaded with talent, and the level of investment and emphasis placed on high school athletics is incredible. My niece and two nephews all attended McEachern and my nephews went on to play football in the SEC. McEachern produces a tremendous amount of talent, but the expectations are high. The fan base often calls for the coaches' jobs if they don't win a state championship, much like college or professional sports fans, because of the elite talent, coaching salaries, and first-class football and basketball facilities.

The first time I saw McEachern's facilities in the mid-2000s, I couldn't believe they belonged to a public school. Through the McEachern Endowment Fund and continued investment, they've built an outstanding athletic program. Another advantage is that many of the athletes grow up playing in the same system from youth football and basketball all the way through high school, making the transition seamless. On top of that, the strength and conditioning programs are so advanced that many of these players arrive on campus physically ready to compete at the college level from day one.

It’s been Buford for the past 15 years for producing D1 athletes. The schools outside of Metro Atlanta are great programs and win lots of state titles, but they typically lack the D1 athletes. But unlike S Fla, talent still remains spread out over a number of schools with much less transferring than you see in Fla. Georgia still has transfer rules that can difficult without a Bona Fide move of the whole family.

The factor that can really upend a lot of this is that Georgia recently passed a law for NIL at the high school level. We will have to see which programs take advantage of this.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up at the same family reunion one day. How many Shockley’s can there be in metro Atlanta who aren't related at all?

Exactly, Shockley ain't Williams. Uncommon surname, same general area. I wouldn't be shocked if he turned out to be a nephew or cousin...
