Maybe we can use that stem cell research to grow a DT.
He'd sign somewhere else.

I cannot lie I literally almost fell on the floor reading this. That was funny.Maybe we can use that stem cell research to grow a DT.
Only for him to later say: "I grew up in University of Miami lab ... but I have to make the best decision for me and my family..."
So in other words, if they really wanted to build a stadium they could, but they just don't give a sh*t.
i'd love to know where you'd put this stadium and where the money for the infrastructure improvements would come from.

We should partner with the new MLS team.

They are interested..
maybe they could have spared a couple hundred million out of the 1.2 billion they already have
So long as money is not an issue.......

Uh, isn't that THE only issue?
Depends on who you ask.

It would be one thing if this had never come up before, but the laws about pledges to a university have been explained so many times that ignorance on the topic is just plain inexcusable. You can't take money that a person committed to one project (i.e. Research and Faculty Development) and just slide it over to something else, like a football stadium. Maybe you can do it on some NCAA 2014 game, but in real life, there are actual rules about the use of donations.

Do you not get that UM has raised close to 3 billion dollars in about 10 years. My comment wasn't about the specifics of getting it done and the rules that apply. It was meant to highlight that for a school which could raise the money to build 3 Dallas cowboys stadium, building a small college stadium shouldn't be a problem if they really wanted to.
Depends on who you ask.
Not really. Either the money is there or it isn't. Is it?

Not sure what your deal is, but UM can absolutely raise the money needed to build a stadium. All they need to do is add "New Football Stadium" to the list of other things they are trying to upgrade.
A couple hundred million isn't much for an elite university, especially when the school is generating billions to fund projects.
To answer your question, however, it depends on who you ask. Some say yes; others say no. What part of this do you fail to understand?

Geezus. It doesn't depend on who you ask. There is a factual answer to this. If you have two people saying different things, then one of them is lying. But the money is either there or it isn't. It's like being pregnant. It doesn't depend on who you ask, you either are or you aren't.
Is the money there or not?
Yup. It's there, bro.
The money is there to build a stadium.
That's 100% fact; just got out of the vault.
