Thank you dimare. Some of u ppl trashing him for giving to the school n not just a football team need to gtfo. It's also a school n not every priority is for football. If you guys want to do something bout the current situation, then u guys should donate 12 million just for a stadium. Don't knock a guy for giving a large sum of money to the university I love and attended.

"$2 million for the 200-seat Chad Thomas performance hall in UM’s new music building"!!

maybe they could have spared a couple hundred million out of the 1.2 billion they already have

It would be one thing if this had never come up before, but the laws about pledges to a university have been explained so many times that ignorance on the topic is just plain inexcusable. You can't take money that a person committed to one project (i.e. Research and Faculty Development) and just slide it over to something else, like a football stadium. Maybe you can do it on some NCAA 2014 game, but in real life, there are actual rules about the use of donations.

Can dudes stop posting comments like, "Where will the stadium be built?"

Please.... Just stop it already.

Money walks, and morons talk. If UM was committed to building its own stadium, it would get done. So long as money is not an issue, having a stadium much closer to campus is absolutely doable.

Money walks, morons talk.

So in other words, if they really wanted to build a stadium they could, but they just don't give a sh*t.

i'd love to know where you'd put this stadium and where the money for the infrastructure improvements would come from.

We should partner with the new MLS team.

They are interested..

Do you mean "they" as in Beckham's team or UM (or both)? There certainly is evidence out there that they have been talking, most notably Blake and Donna being at Beckham's MLS announcement party.

Do you not get that UM has raised close to 3 billion dollars in about 10 years. My comment wasn't about the specifics of getting it done and the rules that apply. It was meant to highlight that for a school which could raise the money to build 3 Dallas cowboys stadium, building a small college stadium shouldn't be a problem if they really wanted to.

Then improve your writing. You said that they could use some of the $1.2 billion. They can't. If you meant that if they could raise $1.2 billion on one campaign they could raise a hundred million for a stadium, then write "if they could raise $1.2 billion on one campaign they could raise a hundred million for a stadium".

Depends on who you ask.

Not really. Either the money is there or it isn't. Is it?

Not sure what your deal is, but UM can absolutely raise the money needed to build a stadium. All they need to do is add "New Football Stadium" to the list of other things they are trying to upgrade.

A couple hundred million isn't much for an elite university, especially when the school is generating billions to fund projects.

To answer your question, however, it depends on who you ask. Some say yes; others say no. What part of this do you fail to understand?

Geezus. It doesn't depend on who you ask. There is a factual answer to this. If you have two people saying different things, then one of them is lying. But the money is either there or it isn't. It's like being pregnant. It doesn't depend on who you ask, you either are or you aren't.

Is the money there or not?

Is the money there or not?

Yup. It's there, bro.

The money is there to build a stadium.

That's 100% fact; just got out of the vault.

In other words, you don't know. It's just fun to blast the university and pretend as though the money is there. Cool, bro. See you at Sunset Place later.
