Gaytors vs A$M

This one is easy.. aTm. The only time is would be a thought exercise is if it's ohio state or notre dumb playing the gater. Then I'd have to go to the recruiting ticket and see how it affects the Canes before I'd decide.

If I was betting the game I'd take Florida +3.5 at least they showed some fight this weekend against georgia.if our team wasn't so ****** we should have beat a&m I think they have only beat us and maybe sam Houston.

Ah, 10 overtimes - both teams exhausted & mutually decide to call it a game. Both losers.

hope it ends in a 0-0 tie a the end of regulation. both offenses have 10 turnovers during the game and the crowd leaves at the start of the 3rd quarter and they play the rest of the way in an empty stadium, in a driving rainstorm.

the visiting gator fans end up with dysentery and no bathroom on the bus ride back to gainesville.

8&4 wins in the 5th overtime when AR15 throws a pick in the direction of a wide open receiver in the endzone and it gets returned for a score the other way

I got UF winning.

Heart says oil money, head says scared money.

Hope says seismic interdimensional chasm engulfing the entire gotdamned stadium.

Whoever losses, we win.

But strategically, another Aggie loss is better for recruiting.
No it's not, if you think if the Aggie 2021 class blows up they are going to be more than 1-2 that we are seriously involved for you are crazy.

They lose those players Alabama and Georgia will most likely get better. UF is and always will be a bigger recruiting rival based on their location in the same state and recruiting grounds.

Here's my thinking on this.

  • Florida has a new coach and is in Year 1. Whether Napier loses 6 or 7 or even 8 games is largely irrelevant. He's in what I call the "hope" period of his tenure. Losing to A&M doesn't damage the class, nor damage his reputation. Unless he were to get blown out 60-3 or something absolutely absurd. I'll use Randy Shannon's first year as an example. The Canes were obliterated by a lowly Virginia team in the final game at the Orange Bowl, in route to a 5-7 season. Did it affect the 2008 class? Nope. Because Randy was in that "hope" period.
  • Texas A&M is well past the hope phase with Jimbo Fischer. Each loss makes A&M a less attractive option for recruits. Jimbo cannot sell recruits on hope and a better tomorrow - there is now five years of record to go by. All that they can offer is more money, and each loss makes the Aggies a less attractive location and makes it more costly for them to recruit at the same level. Their foundation may be reach, but money is not unlimited

So if the Aggies were to fully implode, yes, some of their future recruits and portal transfers go to Georgia or Alabama. But not all of them, and it removes Texas A&M as a serious competitor for future recruits. It's one less big dog to worry about on the recruiting trail. Florida losing this year doesn't make them any less of a threat, again because they are in the hope phase.
