Muffed punt cost us points, missed chip shot field go and missed tackles on that Toney run that gave up 7. There was the game. Those 3 miscues cost us this game. Not the lack luster play of our tackles or the play calling. We had this game and it was ours to lose and we gave it away. I’m encouraged by last nights game and as some have mentioned already the next few games will tell us if we are headed in the right direction. I love Mannys comments that they came to win last night and he’s not happy that it didn’t happen. 🙌🙌🙌 lets keep our heads up and push on.

Perhaps you're right. Remove any two of the those three and the outcome is different.
 
I look at it a bit differently.

We had a chance to win the game but did not give it away. The Gators gave us every chance in the world to win it too and we were just not good enough.
In some ways neither team deserved to win but someone had to.

That’s a fair statement.
 
Objectively speaking, both teams tried to give the game away. The Gaytors turned it over four times, we turned it over once, albeit a VERY costly turnover by Jeff Thomas.

We made Kadarius Toney look like Barry Sanders. They made Deejay Dallas look like Barry Sanders.

We committed penalty after penalty. They inexplicably threw with 4 minutes left in the game that led to an INT. They also committed a ridiculous pass interference penalty that gave us hope late in the game against Jeff Thomas on 4th & a million. Bottom line: sloppy game by both teams which is what you can expect Week 0. But to say we gave the win away isn't true because both teams did stupid crap.

Missed False start call on them when they went for it on 4th down.
 
Florida gave us way to many chances to take that game. Similar stories can be said for both teams. You can't look at everything in a vacuum. It is what is we.

We were expected to lose by 7+. We didn't. There are some good things to build off of and some things that need to be fixed.

I have no doubt we get better on offense over the next 10 weeks.

The crazy thing is if just one of the 5 guys that layed a hand on Toney tackle him he is a non factor.

His stats were:

1 catch for 66 TD
3 rushes for 3 yards

and if Florida loses they are saying the same thing - don't fumble inside the 5 in the first quarter 14-3 game over,
- made DJ Dallas look like Jim Brown
