Gattis hasn't been good, but...

We had talent issues there last year as well, but we didn't look like this. And please, let's not act like MTSU and Duke are so much more talented than us. We STILL have more talent than they do. Our coaches just don't know how to put our players into position to win. Theirs did.
coach gotta put you in a “position to win” but you cant line up on 3rd and 1 and convert on a team that you are so called more talented then ? That’s why I’m not playing the sole blame on Mario cause it ain’t his fault that you can’t lineup and beat the 3 star across from you for a yard . A dang Ol yard. Shouldnt have to finesse a dam yard !!

You’re my dude, and you’re not wrong that we lack talent on O, but we look like a JV team compared to teams that also have limited talent on their squads. We’re a **** mess. We cant find a mismatch anywhere, almost ever? You ever seen so many WRs run nearly next to each other by design? That’s impressive stuff.
We don’t even look for mismatches. Haven’t seen them try to find and exploit a weakness once. It’s just we gone run our shîtty offense regardless

On Garcia’s 4th down int all of the wrs were sooo close. Like they were in a box. I can’t stand these bunch formations man.

I think it's happened a couple times all year. We had to wait until the UNC game to see it with that wheel route to Knighton. I think Gattis schemed a guy open last week too against VT. I can't think of any more. Pathetic. At least Lashlee would come up with couple plays each game where he saw something on defense and would call a play that took advantage of that defense.

Mario’s baby the OL, behind Gattis is the biggest problems on offense..

we have more then effort talent at WR/RB/TE to beat pretty much everyone we’ve played so far.

the talent on O is underwhelming.

We can't line up and run for half a yard against DUKE or MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE, and now our paper-thin OL is banged up.

Our best RB is a 190-lb power back with average speed.

Teams can sit in cover 2 shells with zero fear of our run game.

As for WR, Colbie Young is already our best player and he got here 5 minutes ago. Restrepo was WR1, and he's hurt.

Nobody has come close to replacing Rambo's production.

There is A LOT wrong on offense right now.

Brother...hear me out.

This is the third time in four years that a legit nobody at WR transfers here and is almost immediately our best WR. KJ Osborn was a WR2 at a MAC School. Rambo was WR3 at OU and probably lower on the depth chart when the next season starts up. Now we got a real nobody show up and be the only guy that can make a play.

Wild.

Someone find the 4th down play where we had 2 wideouts on one guy and then motioned one of them back to the line and then ran into a stacked box

You would think that Lashlee finally proved that even a simple spread is enough to get ACC Wins. This would have been the year to build on that and take steps forward, but not, Mario got Gattis.
Yep. Our players also play more comfortable and confident in that up tempo spread offense. Gattis has actually somewhat implemented a more up tempo, quick passes in the playbook the last 3 games (in the early quarters). It's helped us with some quicker starts on offense. Unfortunately, we probably don't have enough of these plays in his playbook and we have to resort to going back to his current scheme. Once we go back to Gattis preferred gameplan, you can see it zap the life out of the players. They don't want to run that crap and it's more difficult to execute. It's too bad we wasted the spring and summer camps running the wrong offense.

Our talent at WR/RB/TE has been full of injuries and lackluster performances

I agree that Gattis has been a disappointment, but I just don't think we're that good.

It's not really an either/or proposition.

I mean, Brinson is dropping long handoffs.

Btw Rambo would look so average in this offense. Its the scheme

I've always believed this team was overrated. I didn't think they were a 10 win team. I had them at worst 7-5. This coaching staff has made them even more terrible. The players aren't that good but in the past its been proven they are a 6-6 or 7-5 team. Mario made them 4-8. Sorry, I blame coaching. Last year this was a fun 7-5 team, this year it takes us 8 mins to get a **** FG.
