We are running a check with me the coaches first, turtle paced spread for most of the game every week.

Mario is still trying to run it up the gut in 3rd/4th and short, which killed us once again against Duke.

At least we’ve been taking some shots throwing it to the end zone in the red zone. They also finally started playing Colby 3 weeks ago. But it’s mind boggling that it’s taken them this long to even adjust the bit that they have.

I kept mentioning this in the off season and people told me he didn’t have the qb to do it lol. I kept saying im not talking about how much we’ll run or throw its about how we’ll run and throw, Tennessee runs the ball alot, lane has always run the ball alot, sark too.

The people defending Gattis think we want to sling it around the yard run and shoot style. I care about formations , route concepts and if the defense is giving you something take it. I’m also not saying I want 80-90 plays a game , I’d prefer us using more pace though. Not looking to the sideline for 30 seconds to get a play in. Saturday Duke was showing pressure and right when we looked to the sideline you could see they backed out. They dictated what was happening. When your coaches are out schemed in pre snap that’s not just culture being a problem, it’s coaching too. Both offense and defense.

We continue to get stuffed on short yardage and we haven’t learned our lesson after seven **** games. What makes them think we’ll get these short downs when we couldn’t fully healthy? As I’ve said “ caveman , beat your head in the wall type crap is still going on”.

We aren’t doing the check ins every drive. We are running more tempo. Which I do not mind.

I do agree the running game lacks serious creativity. Also, on a two minute warning, and you run 3 plays to kill a minute is stupid.
