If Brissett doesn't pan out then their QB situation is in trouble going forward. Driskel sucks.
LOL funny. Because last year everybody on Grassy was saying how Brissett was being lied to and he shouldn't go to UF because he would ride the pine behind Driskel and that UF would never play a black QB. At the time, I said I didn't understand why people were acting like Driskel had already done something in college and until proven otherwise he was just another high school recruit. I said Brissett would have a chance to start as a true sophomore which was a great opportunity. All the star chasers were on Driskel's nuts...now Driskel is about to ride bench. And I agree, Driskel stinks.
A lot of people on grassy wanted Driskell instead of Teddy when he was committed... Driskell was Meyer's qb... He style was supposed to be Tebow 2.0... Driskell isnt a good qb at the time... To be honest I thought Brissett was the 2nd best qb coming out the state behind Teddy... He has potential but I think he should have been red-shirted... I would have let Murphy take the lumps of the season and let my 2 qbs shirt... No offense, Killa but your squads offense lacks some serious talent... Meyer didnt leave the cupboard full on offense or defense with the exception of the d-line... How long do you think Muschamp is going to remain coach before the fans start to make some noise?
Yea the plan was to shirt Brissett. I know Weis REALLY liked him...when everyone else was talking up Driskel Weis was talking up Brisset. But Brantley went down, Driskel went down, and they played him. I agree with you though they should have shirted him regardless to create separation between he and Driskel.
And defensively, we're pretty loaded everywhere. The d-line is sick but Jenkins and Bostic at linebacker are ballas too. Then we got Elam, Roberson, Saunders, etc. in the secondary. All those guys committed to Meyer and were impact guys as true freshmen. Think of this...last year our defense started 8 underclassmen, 5 true sophomores and 3 true freshmen and had a top 10 defense despite an offense that gave them no help and left them out on the field a ton. I'm very optimistic about them.
Offensively...kind of hard to tell. We had a lot of guys recruited for the spread and Muschamp came in and tried some I-Formation power crap last year. Overall though the offense was young...our o-line started 3 underclassmen last year for example. I think its all on the QB how much they improve. And I don't know about Muschamp...I wasn't a fan and most of the natives are restless so another year for him perhaps.
