GaTech vs Clemson

No idea why they aren't playing this guy
He on the kelly bryant/trevor lawrence type plan.. Got to have competition in camp, keep everyone on their toes, let the upperclassmen get a chance on field to show he aint it, then ruthlessly discard him to transfer portal midseason

I know y’all not letting this backup QB trick you. This Oline will get him killed. Dabo waited til they were up 30 to put him in for a reason
When should Dabo put in a freshman QB? Dude was throwing downhill... DJ is trash - he wont hold that job much longer.

Both teams will look vastly different by thanksgiving so it’s probably silly to do this but there’s nothing on the offensive side of the ball that scares me for Clemson. Not a thing. The OL isn’t great, the receivers are very pedestrian, DJ clearly sucks. We’ll still be facing a very uphill climb because that defense is by far the best we’ll see all year and they’ll have a massive advantage up front, but if somehow the stars align and we can protect TVD, we can give them a run. That offense is average.

"Would"? They played Georgia last year with the same type team. Score 10-3. Georgia couldn't score an offensive touchdown.
UGA got better. Clemson didn't. Probably 21-0 game.

GT scored 10 and probably could have scored 17. As dominant as Clemson's defense was , GT had several offensive penalties that killed drives.

Clemson struggled to run the ball until they went up tempo and wore down GT because GT doesn't have depth. Clemson's offensive line is mediocre.

There's just a clear separation from Alabama, Georgia, and everyone else. I don't even include Ohio State in there.

Clemson didn't get better? What they got was injured. Georgia's scores don't show that they were particularly better in the latter part of the season than they were in the first part.

The clear separation thing is certainly the line you'd hear from Finebaum and the SEC promotion types. Why our fans would want to do it I'm not sure. Clearly there wasn't much separation between Clemson and Georgia, even with DJ and Clemson's awful offense. I'm not trying to say UGA didn't earn their title last year, they certainly did, but it's not like we know that this year's version is so much more dominant than everyone else. Er..... yet.

I just can't make confident declarations about the season from early games like this. People here were bragging offseason about how Utah was gonna destroy Florida. They didn't give FSU a chance of competing with LSU, but now suddenly the narrative has to be shifted conveniently to "FSU & LSU are both trash teams." Same with the other game. Now it's gators will be 8-4 at best because Utah sucks.

It's kinda cowardly for Dabo to just let this play out the way every knows it will. The freshman is clearly the better QB and their fanbase will be looking for any reason to get him in. This narrative was all we heard about all **** game long.

He may truly want to give DJ every opportunity to 'lose the job' but he knows already who the better qb is.

He did the same thing with Lawrence and Kelly Bryant. Dabo gave Bryant some rope and that lasted a few games.

But this time the freshman only led a garbage-time TD drive.

The ACC just got a ton more interesting. Its now wide open for somebody not named Clemson to take.
